It just does not let a citizen of the United States appear for KCET though he has done studies in India for 12 years.

KCET is meant solely and exclusively for Indian citizen candidates who have done their 10th and 12th standard course from Karnataka state boards or equivalent boards recognized by Karnataka Government.

Thus, though one might have studied in India, he would not be eligible for taking KCET since he holds US citizenship.

In this scenario, they can opt for other competitive examinations such as JEE Main or national level entrance engineering tests for pursuing higher education in India.

KCET is conducted every year in Karnataka for admission to various domains of studies including B E, B.V.Sc and A.H, B.sc Nursing, BNYS, B. Pharma , Pharma D, Agriculture and farm science etc.

Yoc can get admission to architecture college through KCET if you have valid NATA score. Or jee mains score.

To get in Architecture college, candidates must passed class 12th from recognised board with physics and maths as compulsory subjects.

For more information about architecture colleges, admission, fees etc you can visit career 360 website

Hello student,

No, for KCET 2025 in Karnataka, you need to provide a caste certificate issued by the Karnataka state government if you are applying under a reserved category. A central government caste certificate may not be accepted for KCET reservations, as state-specific quotas often require documents from the respective state authority. You can visit the Karnataka Nadakacheri portal or your local revenue office to apply for a state-issued caste certificate if needed.

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) scores are valid only for the year in which they are obtained. This means that your KCET 2025 score will not be valid for admissions in 2026.

To be eligible for admissions in 2026, you will need to take the KCET exam again in that year. The scores from the 2026 exam will be used to determine your eligibility for admission to various engineering and medical colleges in Karnataka.

Therefore, if you wish to pursue higher education in Karnataka in 2026, you must appear for the KCET exam that year.

Hello and welcome!

Great question about the KCET rank calculation for CBSE students. Let me break down the process for you clearly.

The KCET ranking for CBSE students follows these key steps:

1. Entrance Test Marks:

- Your KCET exam performance in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology is considered

- Each subject carries equal weightage

2. Board Marks Normalization:

- 50% weightage from your CBSE 12th marks in PCM/PCB subjects

- These marks are normalized to ensure fairness between different boards

- A standardization formula is applied to account for scoring variations between state and central boards

3. Final Score Calculation:

- 50% from normalized 12th board marks

- 50% from KCET entrance test scores

- These are combined to generate your final rank

The normalization process is particularly important as it ensures CBSE students compete fairly with state board students. The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) uses a statistical method to maintain this balance.

For the most current and detailed information about the ranking process, including any recent changes or updates, I'd encourage you to visit our website or the official KEA portal.

Would you like me to explain any specific part of this process in more detail? Or do you have questions about how to optimize your preparation based on this ranking system?

Hello Ashwin,

Choosing between a career in the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other fields via JEE, KCET, or CUET ultimately depends on where your passion and career goals lie. Both paths have distinct futures and demands, and here’s a breakdown to guide your decision:

  1. National Defence Academy (NDA):

    • Career and Training : NDA offers a career in the armed forces with a focus on physical endurance, leadership, discipline, and a lifestyle dedicated to national service. You’ll undergo rigorous training at the academy, leading to positions in the Army, Navy, or Air Force, depending on your interests and performance.

    • Commitment : A career in defense is a lifetime commitment, often with restrictions on flexibility and civilian work options but comes with job security, honor, and lifelong benefits.

    • Growth and Opportunities : The military has a defined hierarchy, and there’s scope for advancement based on merit and experience.

  2. Engineering and Other Streams (via JEE, KCET, CUET):

    • JEE (IIT/NIT) : With a high JEE score, you can enter premier institutes like IITs or NITs, giving you an engineering career path with potential opportunities in tech, research, or even management (if you later opt for an MBA). This path is more versatile, with possibilities across various industries.

    • KCET : Provides similar opportunities within Karnataka’s leading state engineering colleges. The engineering or medical fields here offer a stable and respected profession, but the prestige may differ from that of IITs/NITs.

    • CUET : A high CUET score opens doors to top central universities for various courses, leading to a range of careers depending on your chosen field.

If you have a strong passion for serving the country and find the military lifestyle appealing, NDA might be the right path. However, if you are inclined towards engineering, technology, or a flexible career with civilian opportunities , a path through JEE, KCET, or CUET would provide broader options.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hello,

If you want to change the college after taking admission through KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test), follow these steps:

  1. Check Eligibility : Ensure you're eligible to apply for a college change, as rules may differ depending on whether it’s within the same round or after reporting.

  2. Participate in Further Rounds : If you want a different college, you can participate in the second or third round of KCET counseling for a better option.

  3. Surrender Seat : If you've already taken admission, you must surrender your seat before the last date to be eligible for the next round.

  4. Submit Transfer Request : In special cases, you may apply for a transfer under the guidelines, though it’s rare and depends on the availability of seats and college policies.

  5. Payment of Fees : Some colleges might require re-payment or partial forfeiture of fees during the transfer process.

  6. Consult Authorities : Always consult KCET officials or college administration for detailed guidance.

Hope it helps !

Hello aspirant,

Hello student,

Yes, your son with an OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card can take the KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) and apply for engineering colleges in Karnataka. OCI holders are eligible to apply for KCET and can also be considered for admission to government and private engineering colleges in Karnataka, subject to the college's specific admission policies.

To proceed, make sure he meets the eligibility criteria for KCET, such as having completed the required educational qualifications (like 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). It’s advisable to check the official KCET notification and the respective college guidelines for any specific requirements or documentation needed for OCI applicants.
