Hello Srinidhi,
In order to acquire Mechanical Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra, generally the required JEE Main rank will be in the range of:
The cutoffs that I have provided above change from year to year, as well as category and gender. For reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), the ranks are much more relaxed.
Hii,
If you belong to a PCB background and want to explore fields like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. But there are some important things to keep in mind. Usually, B.Tech in AI and DS comes under engineering courses, so most colleges prefer students who have studied Mathematics in Class 12 (i.e., PCM or PCMB). That’s because the course involves coding, statistics, algorithms, and problem-solving all of which need a solid foundation in Maths. Some private universities or deemed colleges offer direct admission to PCB students, either by relaxing the Maths requirement or by admitting students through management quota. You may have to take an additional foundation course in Mathematics or coding in the first semester. A few colleges have started B.Sc. in AI & Data Science programs that are more flexible with eligibility. These are not engineering degrees but can still lead to good careers in AI, especially if you're open to further certifications.Since you haven't given the JEE or any entrance exam, you'll have to look for colleges that offer direct admission based on Class 12 marks, have a management quota, or conduct a basic aptitude test or interview, and accept PCB students also. It’s better to call or email the admission desk directly.

Thank you and all the best
Hello
Yes, the Circle chapter, taught in Class 11 under Coordinate Geometry, is part of the official JEE Main 2026 Mathematics syllabus, so you will definitely encounter questions from it in the exam.
Circles and Conic Sections are explicitly listed in the JEE Main Mathematics syllabus.
You will need to study topics such as the standard and general form of the circle's equation, center and radius, equation when endpoints of a diameter are given, and the intersection of a line with a circle. Tangents and chord-related problems may also be included in the syllabus.
With 95.97 percentile in JEE Mains, your approximate rank would be around 40,000–50,000 (varies with number of candidates and shifts). CVR College of Engineering (Telangana) admits students through EAPCET and JEE Main management quota. If you're applying under JEE Main, you might be eligible for branches like ECE, IT, or Mechanical, but CS may be competitive. It also depends on your category and seat type. You can also try during spot admissions or check for Category B (management) seats.
Sorry, but it's hard to get the CSE branch in MBM Jodhpur with an 82.16 percentile. Your percentile is above the general cutoffs, but it's not enough for you to get the CSE branch in this college. But there is good news for you: you can get other branches in this college with your current percentile. You can try for branches like civil, mechanical, and electrical, where you have a high chance of getting admission. Don't worry, you can still try in counseling to get the CSE branch. Also, you can try colleges like NITS and Government Colleges that accept this percentile.
GOOD LUCK!!
With an 82.16 percentile in JEE Main and being in the SC category, you have a reasonable chance of securing admission to branches like CSE, ECE, or Mechanical at MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur, under the Rajasthan state quota.
In recent years, SC cutoff percentiles for CSE at MBM have ranged around 80–85 percentile, so your score places you right at the borderline. ECE and other branches often close slightly lower, improving your chances there.
I recommend:
Participating in Rajasthan JoSAA/REAP counselling under the SC category.
Filling web options with CSE and other preferred engineering branches.
Preparing backups like ECE, Mechanical, or Civil, as they typically have slightly more relaxed cutoffs for SC candidates.
Dear candidate ,
With a JEE Main 2025 rank of 105,316 , you will not get EC/EE in IITs or NITs , but you may get EC or EE in :
- Lower tier NITs like NIT Mizoram , Manipur or Nagaland ( in later rounds ) .
- Some GFTIs or IIITs offering these branches .
- Many reputed private engineering colleges .
I would be advisable to fill JoSAA choices for EC / EE in lower - tier NITs and GFTIs , and participate in all rounds .
hello aspirant,
JEE Main is a national-level entrance exam conducted by NTA for admission into top engineering colleges like NITs, IIITs, and to qualify for JEE Advanced (for IITs). It is held twice a year, usually in January and April. The exam is computer-based and includes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. It carries a total of 300 marks and is 3 hours long. You are eligible if you have passed Class 12 with PCM subjects. Registration is done online through the official website . in , generally starting around November or December. Scoring a high percentile (above 98) is essential for top colleges, so it's important to prepare well using NCERT books and regular mock tests.
