TNEA 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants wishing for BTech admission through TNEA 2027 should make sure they meet the eligibility criteria set by the authority. Here are the major TNEA eligibility criteria points-

• General Eligibility-

  • Candidates who have completed their education from classes 8 to 12 in Tamil Nadu are not required to provide any evidence of their nativity.

  • Candidates who have completed their education from classes 8 to 12 in states other than Tamil Nadu are required to provide a nativity certificate.

  • If the parents of a candidate are Central Government Employees and have been serving in Tamil Nadu for the last five years, then their children are required to provide their parents’ employment certificates.

  • Candidates whose parents are employed under All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are required to submit proof of their parents' employment.

  • Any Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee applicant must provide an identification certificate from their headquarters.

  • Age Limit- There is no age limit, but marine engineering applicants must be under 25.

• Academic Qualification-

  • The applicants must have completed Class 12/HSC from a recognised board.

  • The subjects of Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry are essential for TNEA 2027.

  • Candidates are required to score at least 45% (General), 40% (Backward class including backward class Muslims, MBC & DNC, and SC/SCA/ST).

  • For Marine Engineering, the applicants must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in PCM and 50% in English in their Class 12 examination.

TNEA 2027 Application Form

The authority will release the TNEA 2027 application form on the official website. It is necessary to check the eligibility conditions for the TNEA exam. To fill out the TNEA application form 2027, candidates will need to fill in their personal and academic details, pay the application fee online. Thereafter, the form must be reviewed thoroughly. They will have to upload necessary documents as well.

TNEA Random Number 2027

The authority will release the TNEA random number after the application process is over. It is a unique number that is generated using an algorithm. The authority will use the random number are the final tie-breaking factor when all other factors have been exhausted. Meaning, if there is still a tie after using all the previous criteria, then the TNEA random number with higher value will be given preference. Only those who have registered will be assigned random number. They will be able to check the same by logging in using their application number and password.

TNEA 2027 Rank List

The TNEA rank list 2027 release date will be announced on the official website, tneaonline.org. The tentative date is expected to fall in June 2027. The authority prepares the TNEA rank list based on marks secured by the candidates in the qualifying exam. Applicants will have to use their login credentials, email ID and password to check the rank details. The authorities use a normalisation method to prepare the TNEA rank list. Candidates appearing on the merit list will be eligible for TNEA counselling 2027. In case of a tie, the authorities will prepare inter se merit based on a set of rules that will include giving preference to candidates with higher percentage marks in certain subjects, and older candidates.

TNEA 2027 Counselling

The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) will release the TNEA 2027 counselling dates after releasing the rank list. The counselling process will be conducted in three rounds. Those who completed registration and have been assigned a rank can participate in the TNEA counselling process online. The list of TNEA counselling colleges will also be made available on its official website. The eligible candidates will have to pay a prescribed fee to appear for TNEA counselling 2027.

TNDTE will release the list of participating institutes of TNEA before the counselling starts. Based on last year data, around 5990 colleges will provide admission to students appearing in TNEA counselling. Here are some of the well-known colleges given below.

TNEA Cutoff 2027

The authority will release the cutoff for TNEA 2027 after the admission process is over. The cutoff is the minimum rank required for admission to the participating colleges. The TNEA cutoff depends on the demand for a particular branch in a college and the ranks of candidates applying for the same. Note that those with higher ranks have better chances of admission to the desired course.
