To check the KCET 2024 mock seat allotment candidates need to provide the CET number. The final KCET seat allotment will also be released online.
KCET First Round Seat Allotment 2024
The authorities have declared the final KCET 2024 seat allotment for round 1 on August 30, 2024, on the official website. The provisional KCET seat allotment for round 1 was released on August 29, 2024. The seat allotment of KCET 2024 is based on choices filled by candidates, the rank obtained in the exam, and the availability of seats. Firstly, the candidates reserved under special categories such as physically disabled, NCC, and sports categories will be allotted seats followed by the candidates of general categories.
KCET Seat Allotment 2024 - Second Round
The authorities have announced the final KCET 2024 seat allotment for round 2 on September 22, 2024. Candidates can check the seat allotment of KCET 2024 on the official website. The KCET round 2 provisional seat allotment was announced on September 18, 2024. Students were allowed to raise specific objections to the provisional KCET seat allotment round 2. Seats reserved under rural and Kannada medium quota were filled under the KCET allotment 2024 second round.
Second Extended Round of KCET Seat Allotment 2024
The authority announced the KCET 2024 final seat allotment result on October 9, 2024. The provisional seat allotment for the second extended round was published on October 7, 2024. Under this round of KCET seat allotment 2024, seats remaining vacant after the first round shall be filled for categories of SCG, STG, 1G, 2AG, 2BG, 3AG, 3BG, GMR and GMK along with others. All of the above-mentioned seats will be converted to general category seats and seat allotment of KCET 2024 shall be done for candidates of all categories.
Special Round of KCET 2024 Seat Allotment
In case seats remain vacant after the two rounds and the extended round of KCET seat allotment 2024, the authorities may conduct a special round as well. However, if all the seats are filled in through the previous rounds of KCET 2024 seat allotment, the authorities may not conduct any further rounds.

Process After KCET Seat Allotment 2024
After KCET 2024 seat allotment, candidates have to check and decide on the colleges allotted to them. If they are satisfied with the institute allotted, they can proceed with admission and if not, they can continue with the next round of KCET seat allotment. Given below are the various options that the candidates can exercise after the KCET 2024 seat allotment:
First Choice - Acceptance of Seat: In such a case where the candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted and wants to be admitted to the institute, choice 1 has to be selected. The next step in the KCET seat allotment procedure 2024 requires candidates to pay the tuition fee of the institute allotted through online mode. After that, they have to report to the institute for further admission process.
Second Choice - Acceptance and Further Participation: If the candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted through Karnataka CET counselling round 1, but still wishes to participate in the further rounds, this option has to be opted. Candidates will have to select a new course or college for further rounds during option entry. If a higher seat is allocated in the next round of KCET 2024 seat allotment, then the previously allotted seat shall be cancelled.
Third Choice - Unsatisfied and Further Participation: Candidates who are not satisfied with the seat allotted in the current round and wish to participate in the next round have to select choice 3. Such candidates are not required to make changes in the choices selected by them at the time of the KCET option entry 2024 date.
Fourth Choice - Unsatisfied and Quitting: Those candidates who are neither satisfied with the seat allotted under KCET counselling nor wish to proceed with the further rounds have to select this option. So, the seat allotted shall be cancelled and his candidature to participate in further rounds of Karnataka CET counselling shall be null.
Cancellation of Seat Allotted
- There are chances that a candidate who is allotted a seat in the first or second round of KCET counselling wishes to surrender or cancel the seat. It can be done before the last KCET option entry 2024 dates for the second extended round. Such a candidate shall be refunded the fee after deducting the processing fee of Rs 5000.
- Forfeiture of the complete fee shall be done for the candidate allotted a seat in the first or second round who has not reported at the college/ institute so allotted and surrenders the seat after the second extended round completion.
- The complete fee will also be forfeited if a candidate surrenders the seat allotted through the second extended round.
- Surrender or cancellation of seats shall not be allowed to candidates if they do not return the original documents like admission order, bank challan, green card, and verification slip.

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) scores are valid only for the year in which they are obtained. This means that your KCET 2025 score will not be valid for admissions in 2026.
To be eligible for admissions in 2026, you will need to take the KCET exam again in that year. The scores from the 2026 exam will be used to determine your eligibility for admission to various engineering and medical colleges in Karnataka.
Therefore, if you wish to pursue higher education in Karnataka in 2026, you must appear for the KCET exam that year.

We all know that KCET exam carries a weightage of 50% in determining your final rank so if you score more than 90 percent in your boards you will get good rank The higher your marks, the better your rank will be. The marks you secured in your Class 12 board exams also play a role, with a weightage of 50%.
But one thing more if you manage to score between 140-160 in KCET exam along with 90 percent board marks you will get rank under 1k which is considered very good.
