1. PGDIIT

PGDIIT is a one-year postgraduate diploma in Engineering offered by the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar. This programme has been designed to be an intensive course work based which is the same as for the MTech programme. Currently, IIT Gandhinagar offers PGDIIT courses in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Earth System Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for PFDIIT, candidates should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in B.E. /B.Tech./M.Sc. or equivalent in appropriate branches (50% marks for SC /ST). Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities before applying for it.

Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission have to apply for the course by submitting the duly filled application form in online mode. The selection process will be done based on the written test and an interview.

2. PGDIE

The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) offers a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE). It is a two-year flagship programme to help students strengthen their technical skills and add productivity in various engineering functions.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have obtained at least 60% marks in graduation. Also, candidates should have a valid GATE score.

Admission Process

Candidates looking for admission will first have to fill out and submit the application form before the deadline. The authorities will offer admission based on Group Discussion and Personal Interviews with appropriate weightage given to GATE scores, academic performance, and relevant experience.

3. PGDME

Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering (PGDME) is a one-year programme, offered by IMU, Mumbai. This programme is offered at the Mumbai Port campus and the total fee of this programme is 3.60 lakh.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must have graduated in B.E. Mechanical / Naval Architecture disciplines from recognized institutes with at least 50% marks in the final year and 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or in the Degree Exam.

Admission Process

The admission process for this course is done in January each year.

4. PGDAMT

Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Advanced Manufacturing Technology (PGDAMT) is a one-year full-time programme offered by CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CMERI). This programme enables students to have hands-on training and experience with practical systems. The total number of seats available for this course is 30.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for this programme, candidates must have done BE/BTech/AMIE in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Production Engineering or equivalent. Only those candidates who fulfil the criteria are offered admission.

Admission Process

Applicants will be offered admission Postgraduate Diploma course will be based on their performance in the written test and interview to be conducted at CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur.

5. PGD by CIPET

Central Institute of Plastic Engineering Technology (CIPET) offers admission to diploma engineering courses on its various campuses. CIPET is one of the premier institutes.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates should have obtained a three-year, full-time degree in Science. Also, candidates should have qualified CIPET JEE. Only those candidates who will qualify for the entrance exam will be eligible for admission.

Admission Process

Admission is based on the candidate's performance in the entrance exam. All the qualified candidates are called to participate in the counselling process following which the seats are allotted to the selected candidates.
