Postgraduate Diploma Courses in Engineering
PGDIIT is a one year postgraduate diploma in Engineering offered by Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar. This programme has been designed to be an intensive course work based which is the same as for the MTech programme. Currently, IIT Gandhinagar is offering PGDIIT courses in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Earth System Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering.
In order to be eligible for PFDIIT, candidates should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in B.E. /B.Tech./M.Sc. or equivalent in appropriate branches (50% marks for SC /ST). Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities before applying for it.
Candidates seeking admission have to apply for the course by submitting the duly filled application form in online mode. The selection process will be done on the basis of the written test and an interview.
National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) offers postgraduate diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE). It is a two year flagship programme to help students to strengthen their technical skills and enables them to add productivity in various engineering functions.
Candidates should have obtained at least 60% marks in graduation. Also, candidates should have a valid GATE score.
Candidates looking for admission will first have to fill and submit the application form before the deadline. The authorities will offer admission on the basis of Group Discussion and Personal Interview with appropriate weightage given to GATE scores, academic performance, and relevant experience.
Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering (PGDME) is a one year programme, offered by IMU, Mumbai. This programme is offered at Mumbai Port campus and the total fee of this programme is 3.60 lakh.
It is mandatory for the candidates to have done graduation in B.E. Mechanical / Naval Architecture disciplines from recognized institutes with at least 50% marks in final year and 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam.
The admission process for this course is done in the month of January each year.
Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Advanced Manufacturing Technology (PGDAMT) is a one year full time programme offered by CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CMERI). This programme enables students to have hands-on training and experience with practical systems. The total number of seats available for this course is 30.
In order to be eligible to apply for this programme, candidates must have done BE/BTech/AMIE in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Production Engineering or equivalent. Only those candidates who fulfil criteria will be offered admission.
Applicants will be offered admission postgraduate diploma course will be done on the basis of their performance in the written test and interview to be conducted at CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur.
5. PGD by CIPET
Central Institute of Plastic Engineering Technology (CIPET) offers admission to diploma engineering courses into its various campuses. CIPET is one of the premier institutes.
Candidates should have obtained a three year, full-time degree in Science. Also, candidates should have qualified CIPET JEE 2020. Only those candidates who will qualify the entrance exam will be eligible for admission.
The authorities will conduct the admission process on the basis of the candidate's performance in the entrance examination. All the qualified candidates will be called to participate in the counselling process following which the seats will be allotted to the selected candidates.
