BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2018 – The Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has announced the recruitment of Engineer Trainees through GATE 2018. The application form for the BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2018 was available from February 12 and the last date to apply was March 12. The last date to pay application fee was March 13. Candidates who are graduates in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering must appear for GATE 2018 to be eligible for the recruitment by BHEL. Candidates who apply for the BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2018 will be shortlisted on the basis of the marks they obtain in GATE . It may be noted that only GATE 2018 marks will be considered for this BHEL recruitment 2018. While filling the application form, candidateswere required to upload their signature and photograph. In addition, the general and OBC category candidates had to pay an application fee. GATE 2018 was held by IIT Guwahati on February 3, 4, 10 &11 for 23 papers in the online mode. The online registration had started from August 31 and was available to October 9, 2017. The GATE 2018 admit card could be downloaded from January 4 onwards. The GATE result 2018 will be declared by IIT Guwahati on March 17 and candidates who qualify can download their GATE 2018 score card from March 20, 2018.

Eligibility Criteria for BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2018
Age Limit as on September 1, 2017
27 Years for General and OBC candidates (candidates born before September 1, 1990 are not eligible)
29 years for candidates who have studied two years‟ full time Post Graduate in Engineering or Business Administration/ Management
Relaxation for Reserved candidates will be in accordance with Government directives
Candidates must have passed a full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
/Technology or Five year integrated Master’s
degree or Dual Degree programme in
Engineering or Technology Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a
recognized Indian University/ Institute
Final year students

How to fill the application form for BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2018?
Step 1: Fill the details
Candidates must initiate the application process by clicking on the “Apply Online” link.
Next they must select the discipline to apply for and enter the valid GATE 2018 Registration No.
Then candidates must fill the Personal details, Education Qualification details and submit the same
An Acknowledgement Number will be generated that has to be kept safe to login.
Step 2: Upload Scanned images and documents
Candidates must login using the “Acknowledgement Number” as user name and date of birth as password.
They should upload the documents with specifications as mentioned in the table above and save the form
Step 3: Payment of application fee
It is advisable to review the details before making the payment
Application fee is Rs 300 plus service tax extra payable through Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking
SC / ST / EXSM / PWD Candidates are exempt from paying any fee
Candidates are advised to take a printout of their application form. They are however not required to send any documents to the BHEL office.
Selection Procedure for the BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2018 - The final merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the GATE scores and the performance of the candidates in the personal interview. Weightage given will be as follows
GATE 2018 marks out of 100: 75% weightage
Interview: 25% weightage
Training/ Probation: Candidates will have to undergo training for one year after joining and thereafter will be absorbed as Engineers
Pay Scale: Candidates will be paid a basic pay of Rs 20,600/- during training in a pay scale of pay of Rs. 20, 600-46, 500/-. After successful completion of training, the trainees will be absorbed as Engineers in the scale of pay of Rs. 24, 900-50, 500/-. They will receive a basic pay of Rs 24, 900/- along with DA (Currently 114.8% of Basic Pay). Other Perks and Allowances (46% of Basic Pay) as well as benefits such as Leave, Leave Encashment, Medical facilities for self and dependent family members, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Performance Related Pay, Uniform, Subsidized Canteen Facilities, Company‟s accommodation or HRA etc. will also be accorded as per the company rules
The cost to company will be Rs 8.0 Lakhs per annum
Service Agreement Bond: Selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh only) that they will serve the Company (or any Government Department or Undertaking at the discretion of the Company) for a period of three years after completing their training successfully. Candidates will also be required to furnish a Surety Bond that has been executed by their parents/ guardian/ reliable surety.
