BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2019 – The Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) will be announcing the recruitment of Engineer Trainees through GATE 2019. The application form for the BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2019 will be available tentatively from the second week of February to the second week of March. Candidates who are graduates in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering must appear for GATE 2019 to be eligible for the recruitment by BHEL. Candidates who apply for the BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2019 will be shortlisted on the basis of the marks they obtain in GATE. It may be noted that only GATE 2019 marks will be considered for this recruitment. While filling the application form, candidates will be required to upload their signature and photograph. In addition, the General and OBC category candidates will have to pay an application fee. GATE 2019 has been conducted by IIT Madras on February 2, 3, 9 and 10 for 24 papers in online mode. The online registration had started from August 31 and was available till October 1, 2018 (with late fee). The GATE 2019 admit card can be downloaded from January 4 onward. The GATE result 2019 was declared by IIT Madras on March 15 and the candidates who qualify can download their GATE 2019 scorecard from the website.

Step 1: Fill the details
Candidates will have to initiate the application process by clicking on the “Apply Online” link.
Next, they will have to select the discipline to apply for and enter the valid GATE 2019 Registration No.
Then candidates will have to fill the Personal details, Education Qualification details and submit the same
An Acknowledgement Number will be generated that has to be kept safe to log in.
Step 2: Upload Scanned images and documents
Candidates will have to log in using the “Acknowledgement Number” as user name and date of birth as password.
They will have to upload the documents with specifications as mentioned in the table above and save the form
Step 3: Payment of application fee
It is advisable to review the details before making the payment
The application fee will be Rs 300 plus service tax extra payable through Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking
SC / ST / EXSM / PWD Candidates are exempted from paying any fee
Candidates will be advised to take a printout of their application form. They are however not required to send any documents to the BHEL office.
Selection Procedure for the BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2019 - The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the GATE scores and the performance of the candidates in the personal interview. Weightage given will be as follows
GATE 2019 marks out of 100: 75% weightage
Interview: 25% weightage
Training/ Probation: Candidates will have to undergo training for one year after joining and thereafter will be absorbed as Engineers
Pay Scale: Candidates will be paid a basic pay of Rs 20,600/- during training in a pay scale of pay of Rs. 20, 600-46, 500/-. After successful completion of training, the trainees will be absorbed as Engineers in the scale of pay of Rs. 24, 900-50, 500/-. They will receive a basic pay of Rs 24, 900/- along with DA (Currently 114.8% of Basic Pay). Other Perks and Allowances (46% of Basic Pay) as well as benefits such as Leave, Leave Encashment, Medical facilities for self and dependent family members, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Performance Related Pay, Uniform, Subsidized Canteen Facilities, Company‟s accommodation or HRA etc. will also be accorded as per the company rules
The cost to company will be Rs 8.0 Lakhs per annum
Service Agreement Bond: Selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh only) that they will serve the Company (or any Government Department or Undertaking at the discretion of the Company) for a period of three years after completing their training successfully. Candidates will also be required to furnish a Surety Bond that has been executed by their parents/ guardian/ reliable surety.
