QnA related to CG PET

Ask your question related to CG PET

Hi, with this rank it is not possible for your son to get any government engineer colleges like nit,IIIT,etc. With 47 percentile your son might get a private college but a 3rd or 4th tier college at most .

I hope this helps you.

Hi  there,

Hope you are doing fine.

When applying for admission through the CGPET (Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test) counseling, the validity of a caste certificate from another state can vary based on specific rules and regulations set by the CGPET authorities.

You need to produce a valid caste certificate during  the time of counselling and then contact the officials accordingly to know any further information.

If you apply for all india reservation and any other category status then you have to produce the certificate accordingly and then get it attested by the right officials and the authority.

Also, you can contact the official counselling authorities to know more and precise details regarding the counselling and certificates queriers.

Hope this resolves your query.

Hello Manisha

Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that your son will be able to secure a seat in a Government Engineering College (GEC) in Chhattisgarh with a score of 38.236% in the CG PET 2024 exam.

Why is this the case?

High Competition: Engineering is a popular field, and the number of aspirants far exceeds the available seats in government colleges.

Cut-off Percentages: The cut-off percentages for GECs in Chhattisgarh are typically much higher, especially for sought-after branches.

Factors Affecting Cutoffs: Cutoffs vary based on factors like the total number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the reservation policies.

What to do next?

While this might be disappointing, there are other options to consider:

Explore Private Colleges: There are several private engineering colleges in Chhattisgarh that might offer admissions based on your son's score.

Consider Other Fields: Based on your son's interests, you could explore other fields like management, pharmacy, or IT.

Improve for Next Year: If your son is determined to pursue engineering, he can focus on improving his score for the next year's entrance exam.

It's essential to have a realistic assessment of the situation and explore alternative paths.

Would you like to explore other options or discuss potential career paths based on your son's interests?

Hope it helps!

With a CRL rank of 92,216 and a General category rank of 9,418 in CAT, getting into a top National Institute of Technology (NIT) or Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) for Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is highly unlikely, as these institutes typically have very competitive cutoffs for CSE, especially for the general category. You may still have a chance at other branches or colleges with slightly lower cutoffs, but it's important to explore other options or consider additional rounds of counseling and eligibility for specific state-level institutions.

Hi Pushpit

Results of class 12 are not out yet and neither you can get your transfer certificate (TC) without it. However you can still attend your counselling session because it would be the same problem for all the students who are yet to attend the counselling session and the college management would definitely be aware about it so they would let you attend the counselling session. However, college would ask you to submit your class 12 results once they are out .

Do not worry you can still attend the counselling session and you will be provided with adequate time to submit you documents

As per previous cut-off, cutoff rank required for admission in government colleges are:-

Fields Civil Engineering:-

  • SC - 1142
  • OBC - 614-882
  • UR - 253-514

Mechanical Engineering:-

  • SC - 897-1143
  • OBC - 1349-2210
  • UR - 50-832

Electrical Engineering:-

  • SC - 1868-1919
  • OBC - 1868-2710
  • UR - 208-1791

As you can scored 51.83 marks in CGPET. There are 50-50 chances that you will get seat in any government college. Marks required between the range of 60 to 70 marks in CGPET.

Thank You!
