GCET CounsellingGCET Counselling 2018 – The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa, will conduct GCET 2018 counselling tentatively from the 3rd week of June onwards. To participate in GCET counselling 2018, eligible candidates have to fill form B; note that candidates seeking admission to NATA based B. Arch course have to fill form B1 instead. Applicants of GCET can obtain Form B at the time of submission of Form A (which is for appearing in the exam). Completed forms have to be submitted in person at the Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim. After submission, the candidate will be issued an acknowledgement card which has to be produced at the time of counselling. There will be two rounds of Goa CET counselling 2018, but an additional round may be held in case there are vacant seats left. Only those candidates who are listed in the merit list of GCET will be allowed to participate in GCET 2018 counselling.   • Form B: This form has to be filled by candidates seeking admission to B.Tech courses

GCET 2018 Counselling Procedure

The step-wise counselling process of Goa CET 2018 has been described below:


Step 1 – Fill the GCET Counselling form 2018

To fill the counselling form, the candidate has to enter details like name, GCET registration number, category under which admission is sought, gender, marks obtained in GCET 2018. The Goa CET 2018 counselling form has to be duly filled in the candidate’s own handwriting.


Step 2 – Submission the form

After ensuring that all the details are correctly filled, the candidate must submit the GCET counselling form 2018 before the last date in person at the Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim.

The candidate will handeded an acknowledgement card, as proof of receipt of the counselling form. The card must be kept safe, as it has to produced at the time of counselling.


Step 3 – Attend Counselling Session in Person

Candidates who are listed in the merit list of GCET 2018 will be eligible for counselling. Such candidates have to appear in person for counselling on the scheduled date and time.

Each round of counselling of GCET 2018 will be conducted over multiple days, with candidates grouped into various categories based on their merit rank.


Step 4 – GCET 2018 Seat Allotment

The allotment of seats will be based on the merit rank of the candidate, order of seat preference, and availbility of seats. Seat allotment of GCET will include mandatory document verification; only those who successfully complete will be considered for seat allotment.

After each round of GCET seat allotment, the list of provisionally alloted candidates will the posted  on the official website. Information like institution, branch, category and marks of such candidates will be displayed.


Vacant and Unclaimed seats: Such seats will be moved to general category and offered in subsequent rounds of counselling.   


Documents to be produced at time of GCET 2018 Counselling

  • Mark sheet and Pass Certificate of Class 10

  • Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate of Class 12th 

  • GCET 2018 Admit Card

  • GCET 2018 Acknowledgement Card

  • School Leaving Certificate

  • Caste Certificate (under which admission is sought)

  • Income Certificate

  • Certificate of Eligibility from Goa University (if candidate belongs to a board other than Goa board)

Reporting at alloted institute

Post seat allotment, the candidate will have to report at the alloted institute with the allotment letter.

No, you will not get any benefit as you will be considered OBC in creamy layer and you will be treated as a general candidate only.
