Can biology student appear in IAT2019 ?? IISER Admission?

Sudeshna Dutta 2nd Jul, 2019

Hello Shailendra,

Why can't a Biology Student appear?  IISER does provide courses for BS-MS in Biology. Any Science student can appear for IAT. All you need to do is fulfill the eligibility criteria by clearing the cut offs required for appearing in SCB and IAT exam.

Kindly go through this link for further details on eligibility regarding IISER admissions https://www.iiseradmission.in/eligibility/

Hope this helps.

I got 96% in 12th boards 2019.I also wrote iiser aptitude test. What is the possibility of getting admission?

Arpit Agarwal 30th Jun, 2019

Well, brother even if you had scored 100% in CBSE, still it would had made no difference in the IESR examination.

As, having a score above 75% would had made you qualify to appear in that exam.

Regarding apetitude performance, I would recommend you to wait for the results. Till then you can explore your interest as this would help you in understanding your research domain which you can expore in IESR.

Thank You

My son is ipt mark 78/180 mark and he will be join in the iiser

Manish Singh 28th Jun, 2019

Dear Sonu

With your son marks being 78 out of 180 , his chances of getting into Indian Institute of Science Education and Research is way too low. The minimum cut off to get into IISER is 90 which is in the worst case scenario.  To get any good IISER you have get Mark's above 100 so yes 78 Mark's dont cut to get admission.  I would suggest some private colleges or universities.  I hope it helped

Sir what if I score good in PCB and not in maths?

Ayush Jain 7th Jul, 2019

Hello Aspirant,

No need to worry much. If you don't score good in maths and score well in PCB then go for PCB related course so that your maths marks won't come into consideration. But if you want to go for a course that requires maths as a compulsory subject then there will be little bit problem. However the minimum marks is 55% in each subject in most colleges so I don't think you will face any problem.

All the best !
