What should be my rank for qualifying GATE and getting into IIT Kharagpur for M.Tech Food processing Engineering? I want M.Tech Food processing Engineering at IIT Kharagpur very very badly. Its like my dream. What should I do to get the qualifying rank and mark? Im studying B.Tech in Food Technology

Sree Student Expert 9th Feb, 2022

Hello Krishna,

You have not mentioned your Caste Category, so I'm considering it as General Category.

See it is difficult to determine before cut-offs changes from year to year and may depend on many factors.

You must have minimum 60 percentage if you belong to general category and 55 percentage if you belong to reservation category, in Graduation from a recognised Board.

Previous year's cut-off Rank for  M.Tech Food Processing Technology in Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur are given below.

Previous year's GATE cut-offs:

General Category: 741 Cut-off Rank

EWS Category: 567 Cut-off Rank

OBC Category:  688 Cut-off Rank

SC Category: 461 Cut-off Rank

ST Category: 407 Cut-off Rank
