Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you, as your rank in G.A.T.E is 12,400 and getting seat in O.U ( Osmania University) is very difficult as for getting seat in Osmania university is you should have rank around 4000-9000 and getting rank below that can not give you seat in Osmania university as I.I.Ts and N.I.Ts gets filled around 2500 to 3000 rank and then other colleges starts filling.

You are not eligible for GATE as this exam is primarily for science students. GATE is a national-level post-graduation entrance exam conducted for admission to M.Tech, M.E, or Ph.D. programs.
To appear for the GATE Entrance exam you must have completed your Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology or Masters's degree (M.Sc.) in any relevant science subject.
