Piyush kesarwani 25th Mar, 2022

hello aspirant,

I hope you are doing great.

i would like to tell you that looking at the previous year GATE Qualifying Cutoff for Computer Science and Engineering, you have decent chances of getting into NIT's and other low NIT's colleges of India.

Please note that the above prediction is based on the previous year GATE Cutoff trends, and the GATE Qualifying Cutoff bound to vary every year. The GATE Qualifying Cutoff for CSE depends on various factors like :

  1. Number of Seats in Program.

  2. Total number of applicants for program.

  3. Difficulty level of GATE for that particular exam.

My GATE score in Civil paper is 493, rank 4945, General Category. Can I get a any stream under Civil Engg in any Old IIT? If yes, then which one?

Anurag Khanna 25th Mar, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

If we go through the analysis of previous year's GATE score Vs College allotment than according to the GATE 2022 score mentioned by you in the query you have very less chances of getting any of the IITs or NITs because their cut-offs are somewhere around 550-600+ score for General category for Civil Engineering specialization , so I would recommend you to go with some private colleges in states like Andhra Pradesh , Telangana and some others because some private colleges also accept admission on the basis of GATE score.

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Should I expect a low cutoff for NITW cse (OBC NCL)? As I got a 604 gate score and 1375 rank and last years cutoff was 615, but the score vs rank was very much different from this year. I am really confused and nervous because of this.

my gate score is 398 and rank is 9353 in obc category can there any possibility to have any iit or nit

Anurag Khanna 25th Mar, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

Since you have not mentioned the specialization for which you appeared in GATE, so we cannot give you an accurate guidance because the specialization/branch for which you appear in GATE, the same branch will be allotted to you depending upon your GATE score, so kindly help us with that for accurate answer.

If we go through the analysis of previous year's GATE score Vs College allotment than according to the GATE 2022 score mentioned by you in the query you have very less chances of getting any of the IITs or NITs with any of the specialization/branch because their cut-offs are somewhere around 450+ marks for General category so I would recommend you to go with some private colleges in states like Andhra Pradesh , Telangana and some others because some private colleges also accept admission on the basis of GATE score.

I have got Gate 2022 Score-593, marks-53.33 and rank-2133, do I have a chance of any IITs and NITs for VLSI or power electronics or any good specialization you can suggest with this score?

ayanmukherjee045 25th Mar, 2022

Dear aspirant,

As you have secured 2.1k rank in gate 2022 so let me tell you that it is difficult for you to get into IITs like kanpur, roorkee, Madras, kharagpur, guhawati, delhi . You may try for some lower IITs like Mandi, gandhinagar, dharwad, bhilai.

Nits like Jamshedpur durgapur Silchar allahabad rourkela Calicut could be a better option.

However various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

Piyush 25th Mar, 2022

Hello aspirant,

I hope that you are doing absolutely great.

With reference to your above mentioned query, I would like to tell you that YES, you can apply and give GATE Computer Science Exam after Completing your B.tech Civil Engineering course or during your final year as well.

For appearing in GATE, the applicant needs to be at least a bachelor's degree holder in engineering or at least a master's degree holder, like MSc in any science stream, including statistics and computer science. The final year students can also appear in the examination.

if you will qualify GATE Computer Science, then you can get admission in M.tech programs of various Engineering courses including CSE.

Sumedha Bhattacharya 24th Mar, 2022

Dear Student ,

It would be difficult to predict the chances of getting colleges as every year the cut off can change due to several factors like Seat Matrix, Difficulty level of questions , no of students appeared for exams etc.

Well, as per the previous year GATE cut off , you have good chances to get the following colleges according to your GATE score :

  • Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
  • Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
  • Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
  • Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar
  • Indian Institute of Technology Indian School of Mines Dhanbad  and others

you can check the GATE cut off from here too:

If i apply MTech course Is my Gate score ovalidity over

Sohamsengupta8 24th Mar, 2022

Hello Student

If you  apply for MTech course without GATE score as it has been no  validity till the date you are applying for MTech courses. For the state of Andhra Pradesh there is APGCET for taking admission in MT courses without or GATE score which have been lost its validity. And for the state of Karnataka for taking admission in Mtech course  there is PGCET, qualifying this exam you can take admission in MTech courses without the score in GATE examination.

Without score in GATE exam you have to cover  other eligibility of the course. You have a Valid or minimum qualifying marks in BTech exam. If you work for 2 years in an organisation of repute then you have the permission for taking admission in sponsored  seat in which you have to take 2 years study leave with the permission of the concerned authority.

This will help.
