Generally 500-600 score is considered good to get into top of the NIT's. 455 is also a good score. There is a chance of you getting into any of the NIT just wait for the reslut and hope for the best.

To take admission in MTech or ME courses GATE score is not compulsory. The advantages of GATE score is to take admission in government institute like. Without GATE score you can take admission in private institute for M.tech or ME course. If you are thinking about doing ME course. then. for future course of study in aboard GATE score is a must.

You have not mentioned your category so I will be answering from the perspective of a general student. The cutoff for CSE in round 3 for CCMT-22 was 683 CSE and 622 for information security in NIT Suratkhal and for NIT Trichy cutoff for round 3 CSE was around 700. So you don't have many chances. So, with regard of you're query. Yes, a BDS student can write GATE( Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) . In, life sciences. This year's eligibility criteria have been broadened. BDS and M.Pharma graduates can now apply and sit for the GATE tests 2022, according to this year's updated GATE eligibility criterion. The IIT Kharagpur has already announced that the GATE exams would be held online on the 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th of February 2022.
