Deciding to switch from CISCE board to a CBSE school for cracking JEE in Class 11 depends on various factors. While the CBSE syllabus aligns more closely with JEE curriculum, transitioning involves adapting to a new system and syllabus, which might initially pose challenges. However, CBSE's focus on JEE preparation through its curriculum and resources can be advantageous. Consider factors such as your comfort with the ICSE system, your ability to adapt, the quality of coaching available, and your determination to excel in JEE. Ultimately, choose a path that suits your learning style and goals best.
Yes, you are eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.
You passed Class 12 in 2024 (CBSE) but didn’t meet the 75% requirement, so you reappeared through NIOS in 2025 and scored 75%. Since NIOS is a recognized board and you now meet the 75% eligibility, you’re allowed to appear for JEE Advanced in 2026. Also, JEE Advanced allows attempts in the year of passing 12th and the following year. So as long as you qualify JEE Main 2026 and are in the top 2.5 lakh candidates, you’re eligible.
Hello Aspirant,
The eligibility criteria of jee mains are as follows -
If you fulfill the above eligibility criterias then only you are eligible to sit for jee mains.
If you passed 12th in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in 2023, you need to study PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Math) to be eligible for BTech in IIT Bombay through JEE Advanced. You can join 12th again with PCM subjects in 2024 and appear for JEE Main and Advanced after passing. This way, you become eligible because math is compulsory for engineering. So yes, you can do 12th again with PCM and then try for IIT through JEE. Keep working hard!
Hello Alka
For JEE Advance, the best 5 subjects through which you need to calculate your percentage is:
1. Physics
2. Chemistry
3. Mathematics
4. One language (which is English)
5. One other subject of your choice
So you will need to choose PCM + English + a 5th subject to calculate your percentage.
Hope this answer helps! Thank You!!!
Hello!
In JEE Advanced eligibility, the top 5 subjects from your board exam are considered. Usually, they are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and any two other subjects from the main curriculum. If CMS is your optional subject and IT is an additional subject, the board will still calculate based on the 5 highest marks from your eligible subjects. Additional subjects are considered only if they replace a lower score from another subject. For example, if IT has a higher score than English or CMS, then IT can be counted. However, some boards follow strict rules where only main subjects are counted, so you must verify with your board’s official notification. The 75% criteria means your average percentage in those best 5 subjects must meet the requirement. My advice—list all your subjects, arrange them from highest to lowest marks, and take the top five as per rules.
Hope this clears your doubt!
Yes, the 47 LPA package might have been either off-campus based placement or through pre-placement offer (PPO) and not the college's on-campus drive. A lot of institutions put off-campus offers in the highest amount of packages. Always confirm placement reports to be clear.
With a NEET 2025 rank of 3,66,000, you may have a chance to get a seat in Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur under the management quota, especially in the later rounds of counselling. In previous years, seats in deemed universities like SSMC Tumkur have gone to ranks beyond 9 lakh in the stray vacancy rounds.
However, getting a seat under the government quota is unlikely with this rank. You should participate in the MCC counselling for deemed universities and keep an eye on the cutoff trends in each round.
Hello,
To qualify for the JEE Advanced, you need to score a certain percentile or above. This percentile may change depending on those years competition. Generally you need a percentile of 93-94 to qualify for the JEE Advanced. So, every year only 250,000 candidates from the JEE Mains out of all candidates qualify for the JEE Advanced exam.
I hope it resolves your query!!
