According to current predictions, the GATE XL (Life Sciences) cut-off for 2025 is expected to be around 28-32 marks for the General category, with slightly lower marks for reserved categories like OBC-NCL and SC/ST.

The exact cut-off can vary depending on the difficulty level of the exam in a given year. A tougher exam might lead to a lower cut-off.

Analyzing previous year cut-offs can give you a good idea of the range you can expect.

The number of candidates appearing, available seats in desired programs, and overall performance of candidates all play a role in determining the final cut-off.

To get a more accurate prediction of your GATE XL rank, you can use online GATE rank predictors:

This tool lets you input your expected marks and provides a predicted rank based on historical data.

Hello

Qualification Possibility

The GATE XL cutoff for the General category varies yearly but ranges between 30-35 marks.

If the cutoff this year is below 33 , they will qualify. If it is higher, they won’t.

Rank Prediction

Rank depends on the total number of candidates and overall difficulty of the exam.

A higher cutoff means more competition and a lower rank for 33 marks.

They can check online GATE rank predictors or wait for the official result.

Hope this gives you the clarity you need .

GATE 2025 rank prediction depends on marks and varies by discipline. For CSE, scoring 85+ may secure a top 10 rank, 75-80 could be within 50, and 50-56 may fall in the 1,000-2,000 range. Actual ranks depend on exam difficulty and candidate performance.

Hello Praveen,

GATE does not have a separate Avionics paper. Candidates usually appear for Aerospace Engineering (AE) , which covers relevant topics.

Key Subjects for GATE AE (Avionics-related):

  1. Engineering Mathematics – Linear Algebra, Calculus, Differential Equations, Probability & Statistics.

  2. Flight Mechanics – Aircraft performance, stability, control, and flight dynamics.

  3. Space Dynamics – Orbital mechanics, Kepler’s laws, trajectory calculations.
  4. Aerodynamics – Airfoils, wings, compressible flows, shock waves.
  5. Structures – Stress, strain, aircraft materials, vibrations, and elasticity.
  6. Propulsion – Jet engines, turbomachinery, combustion, rockets.

Hello

A BSc in Cyber Security graduate is generally not eligible for MTech in IoT through GATE as GATE is primarily for BE/BTech and MSc students. some universities may allow BSc students with an MCA or MSc in a related field.

Other requirements :

1. Eligibility – Check if the university allows BSc graduates. Some require an MSc/MCA.

2. GATE Paper – You may need to appear for CS (Computer Science) or EC (Electronics & Communication) if eligible.

3. University Specific Criteria – Some institutes conduct their own entrance exams for non-engineering backgrounds.

Hope this gives you the clarity you need.
