Joint Entrance Examination (Main)
Hii gunjan
As according to this year cutoff and previous year analysis it is tough ti get admission in nits or government colleges. But you can try in lower cutoff colleges and private college in any branch.

Hello,
With a 66 percentile in JEE Mains in the SC category, it may be challenging to secure a seat in the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch in top NITs or IITs, as they usually have higher cutoffs.
However, you may have a better chance in lower-ranked NITs, IIITs, or state engineering colleges.
Hope it helps !
With a 66 percentile in JEE Main under SC category , your chances of getting Computer Science Engineering (CSE) depend on several factors:
For top institutes like NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs:
66 percentile (SC category) typically corresponds to a rank between 60,000–80,000 in the SC category.
CSE in top NITs (like NIT Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal) usually closes around 1,000–4,000 SC rank .
Lower-tier NITs (like NIT Mizoram, NIT Sikkim, etc.) might accept higher SC ranks, but still, CSE is tough due to demand.
So, it's unlikely to get CSE in NITs/IIITs at this percentile.
Some state engineering colleges accept JEE Main scores with relaxed cutoffs for SC candidates. You might stand a chance for CSE or other branches in:
North Eastern states
Some newer government colleges
Certain home-state quotas (if you belong to that state)
Many private engineering colleges accept JEE Main scores and offer CSE admission even at lower percentiles:
Examples: Parul University, Galgotias, LPU, SRM, etc.
Many offer direct admission or through counseling.
Check JoSAA and CSAB previous year cutoffs for SC category.
Explore state-level counseling portals (like MPDTE, HSTES, BCECE, etc.).
Consider private universities with good placements.
Here's a list of colleges and options where you can get admission without JEE Main or Advanced , in simple point format :
MHT CET (Maharashtra): COEP, VJTI, etc.
KCET (Karnataka): UVCE, RVCE, BMSCE, etc.
WBJEE (West Bengal): Jadavpur University, IEM, etc.
TNEA (Tamil Nadu): Anna University (no exam, based on 12th marks).
AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh): JNTU, AU College of Engineering.
TS EAMCET (Telangana): JNTU Hyderabad, OU College of Engineering.
GUJCET (Gujarat): LD College, Nirma University.
UPCET (Uttar Pradesh): IET Lucknow, AKTU colleges.
VIT Vellore: via VITEEE.
SRM University: via SRMJEEE.
BITS Pilani: via BITSAT.
Manipal University: via MET (Manipal Entrance Test).
UPES Dehradun: via UPESEAT or 12th marks.
LPU (Lovely Professional University): via LPUNEST or direct admission.
Chandigarh University: via CUCET or 12th marks.
Parul University: direct admission.
Amity University
MIT-WPU (Pune)
Reva University
Graphic Era University
BML Munjal University
Shiv Nadar University
Getting admission in IIITs with 99 marks in JEE Mains 2025 depends on a few things like your category, home state quota, and the cutoffs of different IIITs.
But honestly, 99 marks is a bit on the lower side for general category students. It might be difficult to get top IIITs. However, you may have a chance in some newer or lower-ranked IIITs, especially if you belong to SC/ST/OBC/EWS category or have a home state advantage.
You can try using a JEE Main college predictor tool to get a better idea based on your rank and category. Also, wait for the official rank to come out, because admission is based on rank, not marks.
Yes, you can use your JEE Main 2024 score for REAP 2025 counselling if your JEE Main 2025 score is lower.
REAP allows candidates to use the best of their JEE Main scores from either 2024 or 2025 for admission to B.Tech courses. The merit list will be based on your best JEE Main score and class 12 marks.
Your JEE Main 2025 score: 177 Exam date: April 4, Shift 2
While exact percentiles are known only after NTA's normalization and result declaration, based on previous years’ data and trends:
A score of 177 generally falls in the 97.5 to 98.5 percentile range.
This can slightly vary depending on the difficulty level of your shift compared to others.
You may rank in the top 30,000 – 20,000 candidates (All India Rank).
This percentile is typically good enough for NITs , IIITs , and GFTIs , especially if you have category reservation and a good Home State quota .
Heu Abhishek,
I hope you are absolutely fine. As per your mentioned query , yes there is a criteria of 75% in class 12th for getting admission in NITs , IITs .

Revert for further query!!
With a 61 percentile in JEE Main 2025 Session 1, your estimated All India Rank (AIR) would be approximately 3,00,000 or higher . This rank may limit your chances for admission into top-tier institutions like IITs, NITs, and IIITs for B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE). However, you still have opportunities in several government and government-aided engineering colleges.
Here are some government and government-aided institutions that have historically accepted candidates within the 60–70 percentile range:
Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), New Delhi Offers various B.Tech programs and may have seats available for candidates in your percentile range.
Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmedabad A state government university with affiliated colleges that might have openings in CSE.
Maharashtra State Engineering Colleges Institutions like Government College of Engineering, Jalgaon, and others under the Maharashtra state quota may consider candidates with your percentile.
West Bengal Government Engineering Colleges Colleges such as Cooch Behar Government Engineering College and others may have seats available, especially under state quotas.
Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota RTU-affiliated government colleges might offer admission to candidates within your percentile bracket.
Please note that admission chances can vary based on factors like category reservations, home state quotas, and seat availability.
Utilize College Predictors
Participate in State Counseling : Engage in state-level counseling processes where you might have better chances due to domicile reservations.
Consider Other Rounds : Keep an eye on subsequent counseling rounds, spot admissions, and management quotas, which sometimes have lower cutoffs.
