No, You cannot appear in JEE Advanced exam without qualifying JEE Mains. However, this year JEE Advanced eligibility criteria was extended to candidates who could not appear in JEE Advanced 2020,2021. However, this criteria is only for those people who had qualified JEE Mains in that respective year.

Yes you can but there is a limitation for that, according to JEE rules, you are only eligible for 2 attempts in JEE Advance. If you have not attempted JEE Mains in 2020 and 2021 during your 12th , then you are eligible for JEE Advance 2022. And
