Hello Smriti,

Based on the criteria for JEE Mains, you are eligible to write JEE Mains exam in the year 2022, 2023 and 2024. You can attempt JEE Mains three times in consecutive years and JEE Advanced in two times.

You will pass the 10+2 examination on 2022 so the year will counted from 2022 itself. So you are eligible for JEE MAINS in 3 consecutive years starting from 2022 i.e., 2022,2023 & 2024.For JEE Advanced you are eligible for two consecutive years i.e., 2022,2023.

As you are studying in 12th in the academic year 2021-2022 so you would be eligible for the next two years that is 2023 and 2024.

But for jee advanced you would be eligible for 2022 and 2023 only.

No you cannot change your category neither in JOSAA counselling nor during JEE=Advance application process, whatever the category you will be filling in JEE-Main application would be considered as your final category. Now see you can get a middle way if you don't have your EWS certificate right
