SAIL Recruitment through GATE 2019 – The Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) will conduct the recruitment through GATE 2019 for Management Trainees (Technical). Candidates will be able to fill the application form of SAIL recruitment through GATE from first to third week of February 2019 tentatively. Candidates must have completed full time 4 years bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology
General and OBC (NCL) category candidates need to have secured minimum 65% aggregate marks (average of all semesters in all years)
SC/ ST and PwD category candidates need minimum 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying test
Final year students
The maximum age limit for the General category candidates is 28 years. Date of birth should be February 1, 1990.
Relaxation to different category candidates as follows
5 years for SC & ST
3 years for OBC-NC
10 years for PWD (UR)
13 years for PWD (OBC-NC)
15 years for PWD (SC/ST) candidates
Candidates domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during January 1, 1981 to December 31, 1990 can avail relaxation up to 5 years
Departmental candidates should not be more than 45 years
Candidates should be of sound physique, free from any physical defect. Medical standards stipulate minimum requirements of Weight 45 kg; Height 155 cm; Myopia and Hypermetropia, if any, not to exceed ± 4.00 in each eye and no squint or colour blindness, partial or full. Suitable relaxation in height and weight will be given to female candidates. In case of persons with disability, only orthopedically disabled candidates with OA or OL disability with minimum 40% disability can apply
All candidates employed in Government/ Semi- Government/ Central/ State Government Departments/ Public Sector Undertakings are required to produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer during the interview if they are shortlisted.

Candidates can apply for only one discipline. Only GATE 2019 scores will be valid for the SAIL recruitment. Candidates will have to enter their registration number as mentioned in GATE admit card 2019 that will be available from January 4 for download.
Candidates will have to register, fill their personal, academic and other requisite details, enter their GATE 2019 registration number mentioned in the GATE 2019 admit card.
They will be required to upload their recent photo, signature, left thumb impression and GATE 2019 admit card. Specifications are - latest passport size photograph (jpg or jpeg file only upto 50 Kb) as well as a photograph of signatures in digital format (jpg or jpeg file only upto 20 kb)
Candidates are advised to check the preview of all data filled in before pressing the "Submit: button as they will not be able to edit any information after submission.
Thereafter, candidates will receive a verification link on his/ her registered email ID and registered Mobile Phone through SMS. Candidates need to click on the link mentioned in Email or SMS to verify their candidature.
After verification of the link is done, candidates are advised to refresh the page once to be redirected to the SB Collect page where they will have to click on the "Make Payment" link, then select the category, enter the correct unique SAIL registration number as given by SAIL via SMS/ Email and make the payment by using any modes mentioned therein.
Upon successful payment, candidates will be required to click on login button using their unique SAIL Registration Number and Date of Birth and enter the SBI Collect Reference Number and Transaction date in the system. They must click on the submit button to allow reconciling with the SB Collect data within 24 hours.
Candidates must check their status after 24 hours.
After payment confirmation, candidates will be able to download their Provisional Registration Slip with SAIL Unique Registration number.
Only those candidates who will receive the Provisional registration slip with payment confirmation status will be considered for the recruitment process
Application Fee & Payment Mode: The application fee amount of Rs.500/- for General and OBC Candidates and Rs.100/- for SC/ ST/ PWD/ Departmental candidates will have to be paid. This payment can be made through internet banking account/ credit/ debit card or through any of the State Bank Group branches with system generated Payment Challan form SB Collect account (no.34669119094) at Lodhi Road Branch, New Delhi.
Shortlisting of candidates: Candidates who will score a minimum of 50 percentile (Gen) will be eligible for shortlisting while for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD candidates it will be 40 percentile.

Job Profile: Candidates will be selected as “Management Trainees (Technical) in E1 grade.
Training & Probation: The selected candidates will have to undergo training for one year. Thereafter on completion of successful training, they will be designated as Junior Managers.
Pay Scale and Perks: Candidates will draw a basic pay of Rs.20,600/- p.m. in the pay scale of Rs.20600-46500/-. On successful completion of training, candidates will be placed in the scale of pay of Rs. 24900-50500/-. The total Cost to Company (CTC) will be 9 lakhs.
