OJEE Eligibility Criteria 2018 – The OJEE Board has released the OJEE 2018 eligibility criteria for all candidates planning to apply for the admission process. By going through the OJEE eligibility criteria 2018, prospective candidates can confirm their eligibility and apply for admission. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria of OJEE 2018 though shouldn’t apply, because they will not be considered for admission. The OJEE 2018 eligibility criteria will contain guidelines regarding age limit, academic qualification, minimum marks in qualifying examination and subject combination, that candidates have to meet to be considered for admission. Candidates are expected to have passed their qualifying or equivalent exam with minimum 45% marks. Also, candidates with JEE Main scores only should apply as OJEE admission will be based on scores of the national-level entrance exam. OJEE Eligibility Criteria 2018
Candidates need to check the OJEE 2018 eligibility criteria before they proceeded to fill the application form; this way the candidate will not have to go through all the trouble if/her application form is rejected. The OJEE eligibility criteria 2018 which encompasses items like age limit, qualifying exam passed and minimum marks, and also nationality are discussed in detail below.
OJEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: The candidate needs to be an Indian citizen. NRIs and persons of Indian origin can also apply but they will only be considered for supernumerary seats.
Qualifying Exam: The candidate must have passed 10+2 conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha or an equivalent exam
Marks in the Qualifying exam: The candidate must have scored a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam in accordance with OJEE eligibility criteria 2018. In case of SC and ST candidates, the minimum requirement is 40% marks.
Subjects combination in Qualifying Exam: As per OJEE 2018 eligibility criteria, the candidate needs to have the subject combination given in the table below.
Any one of these subjects
10+2 or equivalent exam
It must be noted that the candidate needs to pass each of these subjects individually.
Age Limit: There is no age limit for applying to OJEE 2018
Qualification in JEE Main 2018: Admission to B.Tech courses in engineering colleges in Odisha will be through JEE Main 2018 scores. Candidates will be shortlisted and called for counselling based on their JEE Main rank.
OJEE Eligibility criteria for TFW:
TFW scheme applies to all technical institutions approved by AICTE
Candidates whose parents’ annual income is less than Rs. 6 lakhs (Rupees six lakh only) from all sources will be considered under this scheme. To avail the benefits of these scheme, candidates must submit income certificate for the current year issued by local Tahasildar (Appendix - VII) during document verification.
The waiver will cover only the tuition fee as approved by Odisha Government Fee Committee for self-financing Institutions and by the Government for Government Institutions. All other expenses will have to be borne by the beneficiary.
The candidate has to be a native of Odisha and submit proof of Resident/Nativity Certificate (Appendix-I) in original at time of document verification from concerned Revenue Officer not below than Tahsildar.
