    MET 2025 Phase 1 Exam Analysis

    1. Physis: The Physics section of MET 2025 had a total of approximately 25 questions, covering topics such as Mechanics, Oscillations and Waves, Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Magnetism, Optics, and Modern Physics. Mechanics carried the highest weightage, with 6–8 questions focusing on concepts like kinematics, Newton’s laws, work-energy theorem, and rotational motion. Oscillations and waves contributed 2–3 questions, mostly from simple harmonic motion and wave equations. Thermodynamics and heat had 3–4 questions, generally numerical-based, testing understanding of laws of thermodynamics and calorimetry. Electrostatics and current electricity were significant, with 5–6 questions involving both conceptual and numerical problems, particularly on circuits and Coulomb’s law. Magnetism and electromagnetism had 2–3 conceptual questions. Optics, primarily ray optics, had 3–4 questions, while Modern Physics, including photoelectric effect, nuclear physics, and X-rays, contributed 3–5 moderate-level questions. Overall, the Physics section was of moderate difficulty, with a balanced mix of numericals and theory, emphasizing Mechanics, Electricity, and Modern Physics.

    2. Chemistry: The Chemistry section also had around 25 questions, equally divided among Physical, Inorganic, and Organic Chemistry. Physical Chemistry had 8–10 questions, mostly numerical-based, covering Thermodynamics, Chemical Kinetics, and Chemical Equilibrium. Inorganic Chemistry had 7–8 conceptual questions, focusing on the periodic table, chemical bonding, and coordination compounds. Organic Chemistry contributed 7–8 questions, testing reaction mechanisms, functional groups, and named reactions, with emphasis on reaction prediction and problem-solving. Overall, the Chemistry section was of moderate difficulty, with a balance between theory and application-based questions across all three branches.

    3. Mathematics: The Mathematics section carried around 25 questions as well, with Calculus being the most significant topic, contributing 5–6 questions on differentiation, integration, and differential equations. Algebra and Matrices had 3–4 questions, covering quadratic equations, sequences and series, and matrix operations. Vectors and 3D Geometry also had 3–4 questions, focusing on direction ratios, equations of planes, and lines. Other areas such as Probability, Statistics, and Coordinate Geometry made up the remaining questions. The Mathematics section was moderate in difficulty, requiring careful calculation and conceptual understanding, particularly in Calculus and Algebra.

    MET 2024 Phase 1 Exam Analysis :

    According to the students who attempted the MET 2024 phase 1 exam, the overall exam difficulty was tough.

    • The maths paper was tough and the topics included in the exam were statistics, mean, median and mode, coordinate geometry, vector, 3-D, probability, area under curve.
    • The physics paper was also tough and included questions from topics like electrostatics, current electricity, EMI, semiconductor, work,power and energy, gravitation, modern physics
    • The chemistry section was considerably easy. The topics included in this section were chemical bonding, nomenclature, electrochemistry, biomolecules, states of matter, organic chemistry, p & d block, thermodynamics.

    MET 2023 Phase 1 Exam Analysis

    According to the students who appeared in the MET 2023, the overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate.

    • Maths section was difficult with questions from topics like functions, trigonometry, probability, matrices, straight lines, and polynomials.

    • Physics section was moderate. Questions were asked about balloon concepts, wavelength, wiring questions, and the surface of the earth.

    • Chemistry was also moderate. Some of the topics from which questions were asked include magnetic quantum, melting point, boiling point, density, and atomic numbers.

    MET Exam Analysis 2022 - Student’s Reaction

    K Aniruddha Bhardwaj - The overall MET 2022 phase 1 difficulty level was moderate. The Math section in the MET 2022 question paper was the easiest, followed by Physics and then Chemistry. Not many questions were asked from NCERT. Moreover, the difficulty level of the questions was high as compared to NCERT questions. Aniruddha also thinks that one question in the Math section was incorrect.

    Vignesh - The MET paper 2022 was of moderate difficulty level, however, it was lengthy. According to him, the Chemistry section was on the tough side. Questions asked in the Math and physics sections were equally distributed, while chemistry had more questions than inorganic chemistry.

    Samiksha - Overall the MET paper was moderate, however, the Physics section was on a difficult side. Chemistry and English were the scoring sections. Most of the questions asked in the Chemistry section were from NCERT and 12th based.

    Navneet - Chemistry was the most challenging and difficult section of the paper. The questions from class 12th syllabus had high weightage.
