Getting 57 marks in Gate 2020,CS-IT, Category-SC please suggests PSU

Swati Umang 23rd Feb, 2020

Hello! Hope you are doing good

Admissions to IITs is done on gate score and not marks you have scored. So, the result is highly unpredictable where thebhighesg and lowest marks are the deciding factor of the test.

Till the orevious years, a score of 70 would be considered good to get a seat in the IITs. Since, you have a reservation, you're in a beneficial state. The chances of your getting into IIT is good. But then again, we cannot rely on the previous years data as anything can change at the last moment.

All the best

my predicted score is 45/100 in gate civil engineering 2020 .Im from sc category can I get admission in IIT madras for Mtech if not plz suggest IIT s for admission

Swati Umang 23rd Feb, 2020

Hello! Hope you are doing good

Gate scores are dependent on the highest and lowest marks and thus are subject to variation every year. Its very unpredictable az to whether or not one will get a college. According to the previous years trends, you can apply for IIT Roorkee, IIT- BHU and many other good IITs. IIT - Madras may still be a bit too doubtful.

M.tech admission in IIT through gate all catagories are required to give written test and interview or not ?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 23rd Feb, 2020

no it is not always that all subjects there is interview sessions, some of the subjects admission is done only through gate score, once the application is submitted candidates selected by there gate score on respective subjects, now if the iits exam authority can makes it challenging for some of the course to have personal interview and gd rounds, so you need to wait for the latest advertisement for iits to check the admission process.

I have got expected gate score 519(forenoon) from made easy rank pridictor .My stream is mechanical engineering and I belong to ST catagory. Can I getting a chance for m.tech admission in iisc Bangalore core branch ?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 23rd Feb, 2020

this year according to students review there is chances to increase of gate score, so if the cutoff increases that means the cutoff for all branches in top institute will increase. however in previous year for mechanical branch in iisc opening and closing rank was 725-611. so at this score you have less chances in iisc for st category.

however you have decent chances in iits and nits colleges.
