Joint Entrance Examination (Main)
With a JEE Main rank of 7,50,000, getting CSE in top West Bengal colleges is not possible. Colleges like Jadavpur University, NIT Durgapur, Heritage, IEM, or Techno India Salt Lake usually close CSE admissions well before 1,00,000 rank.
However, some private or lesser-known colleges in West Bengal may accept higher ranks, especially in other branches like ECE, IT, or Mechanical. CSE in such colleges is still competitive and often closes before 3–4 lakh rank.
With your current rank, CSE is unlikely through regular counselling. But you can explore options like:
Management quota seats in private colleges
Other states where CSE cutoffs go higher
Alternate branches with better availability
You may also keep an eye on spot rounds or vacant seat rounds, where cutoffs sometimes drop.
Hello student,
For JEE mains preparation There are three subjects Physics, chemistry and And maths with 90 question,30 question per subject and Exam is for 300 marks Total.
Class 11 and 12 th physics, chemistry and Maths subjects are there .for exam preparation keep daily Target to finish 2-3 Chapters .give weekly mock test for better prepration, and keep going on daily 6 to 7 hours study .
Yes, the UP Board issues a separate marksheet when you clear only a single subject like compartment or instant exam. Along with the main marksheet, you will receive a marksheet or credential stating the cleared subject. UP Board differentiates theory and practical grades in separate sections already on your main marksheet. If you pass just one subject, a separate notation will reflect only that subject clearance. You can refer to the UP Board grading system for more details, where theory and practical marks are listed separately for clarity.
Sorry, but it's hard to get the CSE branch in MBM Jodhpur with an 82.16 percentile. Your percentile is above the general cutoffs, but it's not enough for you to get the CSE branch in this college. But there is good news for you: you can get other branches in this college with your current percentile. You can try for branches like civil, mechanical, and electrical, where you have a high chance of getting admission. Don't worry, you can still try in counseling to get the CSE branch. Also, you can try colleges like NITS and Government Colleges that accept this percentile.
GOOD LUCK!!
With an 82.16 percentile in JEE Main and being in the SC category, you have a reasonable chance of securing admission to branches like CSE, ECE, or Mechanical at MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur, under the Rajasthan state quota.
In recent years, SC cutoff percentiles for CSE at MBM have ranged around 80–85 percentile, so your score places you right at the borderline. ECE and other branches often close slightly lower, improving your chances there.
I recommend:
Participating in Rajasthan JoSAA/REAP counselling under the SC category.
Filling web options with CSE and other preferred engineering branches.
Preparing backups like ECE, Mechanical, or Civil, as they typically have slightly more relaxed cutoffs for SC candidates.
Dear candidate , With a JEE Main 2025 rank of 105,316 , you will not get EC/EE in IITs or NITs , but you may get EC or EE in : - Lower tier NITs like NIT Mizoram , Manipur or Nagaland ( in later rounds ) . - Some GFTIs or IIITs offering these branches . - Many reputed private engineering colleges . I would be advisable to fill JoSAA choices for EC / EE in lower - tier NITs and GFTIs , and participate in all rounds .
Hello Niroja
While appearing for JEE, it is important to know what is the weightage of chapters so you can find the most important topics.
A study done by Careers360 has revealed that in:
1. Physics: Optics was the most important (12.60%) followed by Electrostatics (10.20%) and Properties of Solids and Liquids (8.60%) 2. Chemistry: Co-ordination Compound was the most important (9.33%) followed by Chemical Thermodynamics (7.11%) and Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry (7.11%) 3. Mathematics : Coordinate Geometry was the most important (19.11%) followed by Integral Calculus (10.22%) and Limit, Continuity and Differentiability (10.22%)

hello aspirant,
With 87 percentile in JEE Main and OBC category from Haryana, you have a good chance of getting admission in branches like Electrical Engineering at YMCA Faridabad through Haryana state counselling. The closing rank for OBC home-state candidates in core branches like Electrical or Mechanical is usually around your rank. However, for high-demand branches like CSE or IT, your score may not be enough. So, if you're open to core branches, YMCA is a good option.
Hello aspirant,
Technical difficulties, network issues, or the website being temporarily unavailable for maintenance are some of the reasons why the official SB College website might not be available. You might have to wait for the website to come back up if it's down. You can again try after some time.
Thank you
Hope it helps you
Usually, UPTAC counselling considers either JEE or CUET, but you cannot register twice. You need to contact UPTAC officials for correction or withdrawal before deadlines.
