My caste certificate from delhi is taking time to be issued so, can i fill my JEE MAINS form with my UP caste-certificate and then later use my delhi one.

Rahul Mandal 17th Oct, 2025

Hello,

No, you shouldn't fill your JEE Mains form with your UP caste certificate. Since the Delhi caste certificate is for your permanent address, you must use the UP caste certificate. You will need to provide the Delhi caste certificate for the counselling process at the end of the year, as it will be required for document verification.

I hope it will clear your query!!

I have a caste certificate issued from Uttar Pradesh But i am living in Delhi and wants to sit in upcoming JEE MAINS. will i have to make a new caste-certifcate or the former will be enough?

Jishan Mondal 17th Oct, 2025

Hello, For the upcoming JEE Mains, your caste certificate from Uttar Pradesh will be enough, and you do not need to get a new one from Delhi.

However, the critical point is to ensure your certificate meets the requirements for a central government examination.

  • JEE Mains is a central examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Therefore, it requires a caste certificate that is valid for the Central Government, not just the state government.

Check the format. If it matches the one in the JEE Main brochure, you are good to go. If not, you must get a new one issued in the central format from Uttar Pradesh.

Hope it's helpful to you.

i didnt have my ews certificate so i filled as general cateogry for jan attemp of jee mains but i am sure i will have it before april attemp so can i refill my cateogry during april registration??

Aahana Rawat 14th Oct, 2025

Heya,

Yes, you can refill your category again. In the case of the April session JEE Main registration, you have the option to change your category while registering your details only once. You can switch from General to EWS if you have a proper certificate. Just be certain that the EWS certificate is granted before the last date of the April session form and complies with the NTA's requirements of validity.

Hope it helps!!!

if I got less than 75% 12th boards and got a very good rank in JEE mains like under 1000 then can I get admission in DTU and iiit hyderabad

Sankalp Agrawal 15th Oct, 2025

Hello,

Yes, you can get admission in DTU and IIIT Hyderabad with an outstanding JEE Main rank, as long as you pass Class 12 with at least 60% marks in PCM.

if we talk about DTU (Delhi Technological University) — you must have at least 60% in PCM and pass all subjects. The 75% rule is not strictly applicable here, so you can get admission based on your JEE Main rank and Delhi quota, if applicable.

For IIIT Hyderabad, admission is based on JEE Main percentile/rank, but the institute also requires a minimum of 60% in Class 12 (PCM). So, even with less than 75%, you are eligible if you meet this 60% requirement.

Hope you understand. ALL THE BEST.

I am confused bcz I am not prepared for jee january attempt so I thought I will give only april attempt when I completed my whole syllabus is this right for me?

MeghScapes 14th Oct, 2025

Hello Tanishka,

Although i believe your attempting strategy and sequence depends entirely on your stage of preparation and your personal progress, i would suggest you sit for your January attempt even if you aim to seriously prepare for April.

Whatever stage of syllabus completion you are at, i suggest you give it a try to get an estimate of the exam difficulty and see roughly where you stand among the applicants that year. No matter how many mock tests you attempt, the actual examination environment happens to be very different from mock tests. The first attempt is going to give you an idea of the exam environment so you can prepare for your April attempt better.

All the best for your exams!
