Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research Aptitude Test, in short referred as IISER is a computer-based test (CBT), conducted for 3-hour which has multiple-choice paper pattern, consists of 60 questions. This exam will be conducted in online mode.
The level of this exam is considered to be a quite easier than JEE advance but it is quiet similar with JEE mains and NEET level.

There is no as such compulsion in IISER Aptitude Test to attempt all the sections. If you wish you can do any one section among Mathematics/Biology. The cumulative score in the exam is considered. If you wish you can attempt all the section to increase your marks, if not, you can either skip Biology or Mathematics as per your preference.

In IISER aptitude test no EWS category cutoff present. It's under your normal cutoff. Like for general and OBC NCL candidate marks minimum 75% and for SC, St candidate marks 60% in this Aptitude Test. But IISER have EWS category student seat in their college.

No, you cannot write IISER Aptitude test (IAT) in 11th class as the basic eligibility criteria says only the students who have qualified 12th class or 12th class students whose result are awaited can write the exam. For more information, visit here:

Admissions from three networks-JEE, SCB and KVPY- will be approved by the authorities. You need to apply for this year through online. Application form for State & Central Boards (SCB) channel will be made available from third week of March till last week of April 2021.

If you want to apply for admission to BS-MS degree in IISER through SCB channel in the year 2021 you must have passed 10+2 in the year 2020 or 2021 with Science stream from a recognised board. Also you must have studied Mathematics subject in 10+2 level. The admission will be based on marks scored in the qualifying examination. The cut off score for each board will be specified. If you haven't studied Mathematics in 10+2 level you are not eligible to apply for admission. Please read the FAQs using the link below

Hello there,
IISERs insist that to count only your 12th board marks, to calculate the score out of 500 required for checking eligibility. So,, even if your board reports which is the total of 11th and 12th, it would be preffered if you can include only the marks in your 12th boards. However, if there is no way to figure out your score only in 12th grade, and you know only the aggregate total, then that may be an issue. For this, it is better if you reach out to the JAC via email or phone, or post your query on the IISER Admission Forum Facebook page, where current IISER students can answer them.
