In a rank of 28k in comedk it's very difficult to grab non core branches in top colleges like ms Ramaiah, bms college of engineering,RVCE , BIT Bangalore and a few more.

However you stand fair chances of getting core branches like industrial engineering, civil, chemical even in some of the top colleges like bit Bangalore, cmr institute of technology. Although various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

The seats which are vacant after the round 1 of COMEDK Counselling are considered for filling in  subsequent rounds. So you cannot get admission in the institute for which there are no vacant seats under the category you belong to even if your rank is within the previous cut off trend. The seat allotment is based on factors such as total number of candidates applied for counselling, category of the candidate, merit of the candidate, vacancies preferences of institute and branch.

With the above rank scored by you, it will be some difficult for you to get the top-notch colleges as the cutoff for those colleges is high and your rank is likely to be less. So, you may not get any top branches like cs or it in top colleges. The cutoff is different for different year as it depends on the number of candidates appearing for examination, number of seats available, difficulty level of the papar and so on.

However, looking at the previous year cutoff trends, you can get some low-tier colleges like  cmr institute of technology , Venkateshwara college of engineering and some other parallel colleges.

Hi aspirant, the thing is that once you complete your 1st Round's option filling there is no chance left for you to add any further options for the 2nd round counselling only when few seats added by a college after the 1st round of allotment.

Also, you can change the order of the options that you have entered before the 2nd round allotment as well as candidates have 4 options after they have been allotted seats.

Considering the cut off you do not have chances to get seat if you belong to general merit if you have HKR reservations then you have chances to get seat in ECE in the preferred institutes in subsequent round.
