    Hi Students,

    Yes, you will get seat in top universities if you fulfil the ceteria like:

    Candidates should have 3 years Bachelor Degree or equivalent from a recognized board/university. Candidates should have secured at least 50% marks (45% marks in QE in case of SC/ST and Category I of Karnataka candidates).

    Hello ranker,

    Based on your rank and category you can get into top government Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

    You can get into JNTU Ananthapur,svu etc

    You can get even into Andhra University, JNTU kakinada if cutoffs change .

    I think you can get into top  government colleges in Andhra Pradesh .

    To get stipend for M.Tech you need to join colleges through GATE you will not get stipend through AP PGECET no matter which rank you get. The concerned authorities will conduct the AP PGECET 2020 counselling in online mode. Only those candidates who will be shortlisted will be eligible to participate in the counselling process. The authorities will conduct the counselling of AP PGECET 2020 in online mode.

    Hello Mam/Sir I secured 554 rank in APPGECET 2020 in mechanical. I belong BC A caste and i am from Hyderabad. Are there any chances to get into top universities in thermal stream ? and also is there any difference in seats for local and non local or the seat allotment purely depends on rank ?

    Congratulations for securing a good rank in pgecet. You want to pursue M.Tech in Thermal Engineering.
    I would like to inform you that JNTU Anantapur, JNTU Kakinada, SVU college of engineering Tirupathi and AU Vishakhapatnam do not offer Thermal Engineering course in M.Tech .
    Maximum colleges offer machine design course.
    But there are few colleges affiliated to JNTU Kakinada Which provide Thermal Engineering.
    Below I have listed the colleges along with their cutoffs. These cutoff ranks are for BC_A category for thermal engineering.

    B V CHALAMAIAH ENGINEERING COLLEGE - 634

    GAYATHRI VIDYA PARISHAD COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING - 1184

    PYDAH COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING - 4006

    From the cutoff ranks it is clear that you can get a seat in any of these colleges.
    Now coming to your question about local and non local seats, 85% seats are reserved for local candidates and the remaining 15% seats are unreserved. Seats are alloted on the basis of pgecet ranks.

    Hi Aspirant,
    You have scored a decent score in AP PGECET.You can get any stream in a good college.
    But the problem is that you have not mentioned the category under non local.

    According to official notice,the eligibility condition says  the candidate should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh satisfying local and non local status.
    It means that you can be a non local but you have to study in educational institutions in local area of a duration of not less than four consecutive academic years.In case you haven't studied in any educational institutions,he/she must reside in the local area for a duration of atleast four years.
    If you satisfy these conditions and match the eligibility then you can apply under different colleges.
    You got a good score and can easily get chance in any stream in a good colleges under this exam.

As you are not mentioned any category and also not prescribed any specific course in which you want to take admission so I am answering according to general category and for all branches under mechanical stream. So as per last some years cut offs you have good chances in below institutions.

    1) Gokul institute of technology.

    2) Holy Mary institute of technology, Rangareddy.

    3) Shri Vanmayi institute of engg and technology, Nalgonda.

    4) Balaji institute of science and technology, Warangal.

    Congratulations on getting a good rank in ap pgecet.
    As we know, pgecet candidates are given preference after gate qualified students and only few seats remain. Your rank is good enough to get you a seat in mtech , you have good chances.
    As you have not mentioned your branch , I cannot particularly tell you which college you have higher chance and where you can get a seat based on your rank.
    The cutoffs vary every year due to number of seats remaining and number of candidates applying.

    With this rank even in sc category it is tough to get a seat in top institutes. JNTU Kakinada and JNTU Anantapur the cutoffs have been under 1000 for sc category.
    You have not mentioned your branch and hence the above cutoff which I have mentioned is according to all branches. If you want to know your chances in your branch or any particular college you wish to get admission in, you can mention the college names and your branch. It would be easier for me to help you know your chances.
