JMI Reservation Criteria 2018: Jamia Millia Islamia University offers reserved seats to certain categories under the JMI 2018 Reservation Criteria. The categories of students who are given reservation usually belong to the minority category. The reservation criteria of JMI 2018 shows the percentage of seats reserved for all categories and the required eligibility to fit in the category. According to JMI Admission 2018 reservation criteria, a certain percentage of seats will be reserved for Muslims, Persons with Disabilities, Kashmiri migrants and more. All admissions of the reserved category will be done based on the candidate’s rank in JEE Main 2018 along with the reservation criteria of the University. Important points for candidates seeking admission under JMI Reservation Criteria
Candidates need to apply only under ONE reserved category. It is important that they must fulfill the other prescribed JMI 2018 Eligibility criteria.
In case the candidate belongs to a reserved category and he clears JMI Admission 2018 (entrance exam for JMI) under General category, then he would be considered under the General category as well as the claimed reserved category. However, such candidates will be admitted only under one category (either General or claimed reserved category).
JMI Reservation Criteria for Muslim Minority
30 per cent of the total number of seats in each course will be reserved for the Muslim applicants.
10 per cent of the total number of seats in each course will be reserved for Muslim Women applicants.
10 per cent of the seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to “Muslim Other Backward Classes”(OBCs) and Muslim Scheduled Tribes”
JMI Reservation Criteria for Person with Disabilities
3 per cent of the seats will be reserved for physically challenged persons under JMI Reservation Criteria 2018. Persons with disabilities are included under the following categories:
Locomotor disability or cerebral palsy
JMI Reservation Criteria for Internal Jamia Students
5 per cent of the total number of seats in all Undergraduate Degree/Diploma/Certificate Programmes are reserved for internal students of Jamia. These seats are filled under Reservation Criteria of JMI Admission 2018.
Note: Candidates appearing in different exams of Jamia Millia Islamia University are not entitled for reservation under this category.
JMI Reservation Criteria 2018 under Special Provisions
Kashmiri migrants seeking admission to JMI in 2018 will have to complete the registration process to get admission by filling the application form according to the eligibility criteria. One seat is reserved for such candidates in programmes offered by Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Faculty of Architecture.
Candidates from Jammu & Kashmir
Candidates belonging to Jammu & Kashmir who are looking forward to seek admission at JMI for various courses need to fulfil the eligibility criteria and after that fill the complete application form as they seek admission to JMI. One seat is reserved for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir in the programmes that are offered by Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Faculty of Architecture.
10 per cent of the seats are booked for candidates of foreign origin. They can get admission to each programme after fulfilling the eligibility criteria and completing the registration formalities. Foriegn candidates may apply under general Category.
