The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) is conducted for admission in Engineering, Agriculture and other professional programmes offered by private and public colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The exam is conducted online and once a year. However, the largest section of students write the AP EAMCET for admission to engineering. A close analysis of the previous five years’ question papers can help understand which parts of the AP EAMCET syllabus , which covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, are most critical for the exam; the exam pattern; and difficulty levels. Each element is important for developing a preparation strategy.

AP EAMCET Syllabus: Class-Wise Weightage

A total of 800 problems from the previous five years were evaluated, including 200 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Maths is vital for all three subjects and, therefore, requires special attention.

Physics

The weighting assigned to each Physics unit is shown in the table below. The table shows that Mechanics has more weightage than any other part. This is good news for EAMCET candidates because once the basics are clear, it is easy to visualise the questions from Mechanics. It is also relatively easy to understand. After Mechanics, the Electrical part of Physics is very important and students should know all formulae that occur in the syllabus.

The table below shows the number of questions that appeared from each chapter of the National Council of Educational Research and Training’s (NCERT) Physics textbooks for Classes 11 and 12 in AP EAMCET question papers over the past five years. It also offers a percentage for each chapter indicating how important it is from the exam perspective. The two most important are “Work, Energy and Power” and “Motion in Plane”. They are easy and account for 30 out of 200, or 13%, of questions in the Physics section of the paper. Current Electricity and Thermodynamics, also accounting for a good chunk of questions, is also important.

Chemistry

The Chemistry syllabus is divided into three parts – Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry. All are significant but the AP EAMCET question paper trend shows that Physical and Organic Chemistry have greater weightage than Inorganic Chemistry. In the school syllabus, Physical Chemistry includes a large number of chapters and it has higher weightage in the exam. However, if a student is more interested in concept-based, Maths-oriented questions, they should focus on Physical Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry requires more memorising but the questions take less time to answer.

AP EAMCET: How To Prepare

The AP EAMCET requires the candidate to answer a large number of questions in a short amount of time – it is also a test of speed. It is a good idea to practice on AP EAMCET mock tests and previous years’ question papers, including the latest, AP EAMCET 2021, for future exams.

Tips For Andhra Pradesh EAMCET Physics

  • Along with the previous years’ questions, NCERT textbooks contain a large number of questions that must be practiced

  • The majority of Physics questions are concept-based; students must prepare for that

  • Physics is divided into several sections. Two important sections are Mechanics and Electromagnetism, and they are interconnected. Study them together because they account for over 65% of all Physics problems.

Tips For Andhra Pradesh EAMCET Chemistry

  • Inorganic Chemistry, in particular, is all about understanding ideas. The majority of questions in the AP EAMCET are one liner, directly from the NCERT.

  • Because Organic Chemistry is interconnected, its topics should be studied in a sequence. Students should concentrate only on reactions listed in the curriculum.

  • Physical Chemistry necessitates familiarity with previous years' questions, as AP EAMCET asks similar questions.
