after 12th standard. what i should study for ias

Ayush Maurya 25th Dec, 2021

Hello there

Here on your doubt I want to tell you the minimum eligibility criteria for UPSC CSE is that you must have an undergraduate degree from any recognised University and the most important thing is that UPSC doesn't ask for the stream of graduation. It welcomes every candidate, doesn't matter from where and in which stream they are and completed their graduation.

So to become an IAS officer you must have to clear UPSC CSE and for that you must have an undergraduate degree from any recognised University and for that you can do whatever you want and in whichever you feel interested.

So to start your preparation you just enter your first year of college and do to preparation according to the latest syllabus of UPSC CSE.

For more information about the eligibility criteria,  syllabus and other information I'm attaching a link you can refer to it:

Yes formal dresses are allowed in Yashwant Rao College of Engineering, Nagpur. It's one of the top private colleges with NAAC accreditation and AAA+ ratings. The culture is amazing here. The teachers are open minded and relaxed. The seniors and other students are really helpful.

I wanted to apply for UPES DEHRADUN on basis of 10+2 marks. I got 88% in class 12 and 86% aggregate in PCM. I want CSE branch. Will I get admission in 10% reserved seats for class 12 or should I also apply for UPESEAT. I got 80%ile in JEE MAINS.Also is it better than AMITY LUCKNOW?

Akshita Dhiman 20th Jun, 2021

Hi there,

Even though you have a good score I wouldn't recommend applying through direct admission. There are just 10 percent seats for board-merit candidates, plus there will be candidates that might have scored the same as you even more than you. Hence, direct admissions are a little risky.

Rest be assured, with 80%+ in boards plus your JEE mains percentile, (a rank list is also prepared as per JEE marks of a candidate) there is a fair chance you might get CS but not the top specializations like CCVT.

In addition, it is always best to apply through UPESEAT rank to be on the safe side as 80 percent of the seats are filled using the rank. On top of that, if you have written your exam well, you can secure CSE with a specialization under 9k rank.

Talking about amity Lucknow and UPES. UPES is better.

The fee structures of both are almost the same, but UPES offers 10+ CSE courses and the placement opportunities are better in UPES.
