Joint Entrance Examination (Main)
Hello,
For SC category, to get admission in MNNIT Allahabad , you should aim for a JEE Main rank around 6000 to 7000.
For top branches like CSE, a better rank is needed (around 2000–3000). Cutoffs may vary slightly every year.
Hope it helps !
hi,
With a SC rank of 33,041 and CRL rank of 4,77,000 in JEE Mains, you can definitely try for colleges through JoSAA counselling. You may not get top NITs or highly demanded branches like CSE, but you still have chances in lower NITs, newer IIITs, or GFTIs in branches like Mechanical, Civil, EEE, or Metallurgy. You can look for seats in colleges like NIT Nagaland, NIT Mizoram, NIT Patna, NIT Silchar, or IIIT Una, IIIT Kurnool, and similar institutes.
Your daughter can still get admission if she clears her maths compartment by the first week of August. While she may miss the main JoSAA rounds, she can participate in the CSAB special rounds held later in August. With 90 percentile, she has a fair chance in decent colleges, especially if she belongs to a reserved category. Be ready with her documents once the result is out.
Hello Aspirant,
If you are planning on pursuing an Electronics program with VLSI specialization, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) and SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur (Main Campus) are two decent private colleges, but there is a considerable difference:
SRM Kattankulathur (Main Campus):
Manipal University Jaipur:
If your primary objective is core VLSI with placement in semiconductor companies, neither college is likely to provide really solid core VLSI placements similar to what top IITs, NITs or IIIT-H might offer. However, SRM Main Campus has relatively Stronger industry tie-ups, Better electronics lab facilities and Stronger placement record
The most important topics that have high weightage mark like electrostatic, modern physics, mechanics, optics , magnetism, thermodynamics, waves and shm these topics are more important but you are aiming for more percentile means you need covers remaining topics in the syllabus
Your rank is 1811 in the AISSEE exam for Class 6 admission to Sainik School Chittorgarh. This rank is a bit higher than the usual cutoff ranks. Last year, the cutoff rank for general and OBC category boys and girls was around 1100 to 1200. That means your chances of getting admission in the first round are low.
But don’t lose hope. If some seats are not filled in the first round, you might still have a chance in the second list or waiting list. Admission is also based on your medical test and document verification.
So, while the chance is low for the first list, you may still get selected in later rounds if seats are left.

With a JEE Main rank of around 10 lakh, it’s difficult to get a seat in good government or reputed private colleges under AKTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling - UPTAC) for B.Tech, especially in popular branches like CSE or IT. However, you can still get admission in private/self-financed engineering colleges affiliated to AKTU in branches like Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical.
Some private colleges under AKTU you can consider:
Rameshwaram Institute of Technology & Management, Lucknow
Shambhunath Institute of Engineering & Technology, Allahabad
Invertis University (Bareilly, AKTU affiliated courses)
Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering, Lucknow (lower-demand branches)
Rakshpal Bahadur College of Engineering & Technology, Bareilly
For better branches or reputed colleges, you can also explore direct admission (management quota) or prepare again for JEE 2026.
All the best for your career ahead.
You can now download the JEECUP (UP Polytechnic) 2025 provisional answer key and your response sheet directly from the official JEECUP portal.
Here's how to get it:
Go to jeecup.admissions.nic.in Log in using your roll number and password Click on the link labeled “Questions–Answer Key Matching and Objections for All Group” Choose your exam group (A to K) and download both the answer key and your response sheet If you find any incorrect answers, you can challenge them by submitting the required fee before the deadline
The provisional answer key was released on June 16, 2025, and the objection window was open until June 17 (some extended to June 19 in reports). After reviewing objections, the final answer key will be published and the result will follow.
With 45 percentile in JEE Main January 2025 and being from Maharashtra under the OBC category, it's unlikely you'll get admission in NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs through JoSAA counselling. However, you may still have chances in private engineering colleges in Maharashtra that accept JEE Main scores or through MHT CET counselling, if you've appeared for that exam too.
Some private colleges may also offer admission through management quota or institute-level rounds. If you're willing to explore less competitive branches and local private colleges, admission is still possible.
Dear Candidate , With your given rank , your chances of getting CSE in top NITs or IIITs are slim , but you do have a good chance of ECE , Mechanical , or Civil engineering in mid-tier NITs - especially if you have a home -state quota . At IIITs , CSE might be difficult , but ECE or IT branches at newer or tier -2 IIITs ( IIIT Nagpur , Agartala , Manipur ) are possible . In GFTIs , getting CSE or ECE is more realistic , with institutes like BIT Mesra being good options . Participating in JoSAA counselling and carefully listing choices based on closing ranks and quota benefits will improve your chances .
