Yes, it is possible. According to the current JEE Advanced eligibility criteria, you can attempt the exam a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. Hi there,

Hope you are doing fine.

Congratulations on getting 4826 rank in the jee advanced examination.

The cutoff for the various government engineering institutions  keeps changing every year depending upon a lot of factors like the previous year closing rank, the number of seats available, the difficulty level of the examination and the number of applicants.

You can check the previous year cutoff by visiting the official website of the josaa and the csab counselling authority and then checking the opening and closing ranks for the various programs and courses offered there.

Hello student,

With a JEE Mains rank of 30,000 (OBC rank of 8,000), and having passed 12th in 2024, you have a good chance of getting into some reputable NITs, IIITs, and other engineering colleges. Here are a few options to consider:

NITs:

  1. NIT Durgapur - Branches: Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical.
  2. NIT Jamshedpur - Branches: Civil, Metallurgical, Mechanical.
  3. NIT Patna - Branches: Electronics, Mechanical, Civil.

    IIITs:

  4. IIIT Gwalior - Branches: IT, CSE.
  5. IIIT Lucknow - Branches: IT.
  6. IIIT Pune - Branches: Electronics, Computer Science.

    Other State Engineering Colleges:

  7. Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh - Branches: Electrical, Electronics.

  8. BIT Mesra, Ranchi - Branches: Chemical, Civil, Electrical.

    State Government Colleges:
  • Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC), Madhya Pradesh
  • Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), Lucknow

These colleges and branches should align well with your rank. Participating in the JOSAA counseling process will help you explore these options and secure a good seat.

I have given jee advanced 2 times now both in 2023 and 2024 should I drop another year and give again in 2025 ?? My jee mains rank is 35k and OBC rank is 10k and jee advanced rank is 23k and OBC rank is 6k Should take another year drop ?? Or should I join college please advice me

Abhishek 20th Aug, 2024

Hi there,

Hope you are doing fine.

Given your current JEE Advanced rank of 23000 (OBC 6000) and JEE Mains rank of 35000 (OBC 10000) retaking the exams in 2025 is a good option if you are looking to improve your standings.

You can assess your past preparation to identify areas for improvement and consider if you can commit to another intensive study period.

Also you can explore existing options with your current ranks and you might find good opportunities even now. Balancing your decision with potential alternative paths can help you make the best choice for your future.

Hope this resolves your query.

VIT ap OR HERITAGE INSTITUTE OF KOLKATA WHICH ONE IS BETTER

Abhishek 20th Aug, 2024

Hi there,

Hope you are doing fine.

Both the colleges mentioned above are good engineering colleges and have the best faculties and facilities to pursue your study from there.

You can visit the official website of both the colleges and know about all the criteria required before selecting a college like the infrastructure, the overall fee structure, the academic report, the faculties, the research opportunities and the overall placement of the particular college.

After knowing all these factors, you can choose between one of the colleges according to your choice and the location criteria.

At last, both are good colleges to pursue your studies from there and the final decision lies in your own hand to choose between the two.

Hope this resolves your query.

Is branch allowed in government college of engineering and textile technology serampore

Mehndi Roy 13th Dec, 2024

Hi Subharup,

At Government College of Engineering and Textile Technology, Serampore , the students can apply for a change in branch under certain conditions. These policies are usually based on academic performance, seat availability, and institutional regulations. Usually, students who want to shift to another branch have to obtain high academic grades during the first year and then apply for a transfer on merit.

However, the exact rules and procedures for branch change at GCETT Serampore are not mentioned on official platforms or public resources. The college administration can be contacted directly, or its official notices and guidelines can be reviewed for accurate and updated information

Hi, I joined this group late. My son AAYAN HASANs JEE MAINS Rankis 86284 General Rank. He didnt appear for JEE ADVANCED.

Kumar Shrawan Kaustubha 22nd Oct, 2024
  1. Next Steps: Since he didn’t take JEE Advanced, he is not eligible for admission into IITs. However, based on his JEE Mains rank, he can still apply for NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), and GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes), depending on the cutoff ranks of these institutes.
  2. To explore colleges where Aayan can apply:
  3. Check the JOSAA counseling website for detailed information on colleges and cutoff ranks.
  4. Consider applying to state engineering colleges or private universities that accept JEE Mains scores.
