Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research Aptitude Test
Hello,
Yes, you can appear for IISER aptitude test to be held on June 6, if you have applied for the same. For more information, visit https://engineering.careers360.com/exams/iiser-aptitude-test
Best wishes
Hi Vaishnavi
IISERs offer mostly BS-MS degree, Integrated PhD and PhD programmes in Biology.
Separate course for Biotechnology is not seen in their academics. I think in PhD only you can opt for your choice of Biotechnology in IISERs.
IISER Bhopal only offers a BS program in Engineering and Economics, Not particularly in Biotechnology.
In 2nd and 3rd year of BS-MS programs, you can opt for your choice of discipline in Biology as your major and minor subjects.
Hope it helps.
Hello Md Sahil,
Below are the eligibility criteria for applying in IISER exam:-
Hello Gouri,
Joint Action Committee will release merit list and cutoff of IISER 2019 for candidates who wish to take admission in UG programmes offered by institute. To check IISER 2019 merit list, candidates must login using registered email id and password. In case candidates name appears in the list then they will be eligible to get admission in five year BS-MS programmes in institutes of IISER across India. Based on the ranks secured in IISER 2019 merit list by candidates in JEE Advanced 2019 and KVPY result, institute will allot 50% seats to candidates. The rest 50% seats will be reserved for candidates applying through IISER entrance examination. Hey,
One can get into IISER through KVPY, JEE advance, SCB. Candidates belonging to general category need to secure a rank within 10,000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced to secure a seat in IISER. The only gateway to enter IISER through SCB is by qualifying the aptitude test conducted by them.

Thank you and keep asking:)
Hi,
Aiims in considered as one of the toughest entrance exam in the country.
The number of questions in aiims are 60 each from bio, chem n phy nd 20 from aptitude. And duration of exam is 3hr 30mins.
Coming to iiser, no of questions are 15each from phy, chem bio n maths. Duration being 3hrs.
So u can see that the questions as well as the toughness of questions are higher in aiims.
Bio in iiser is of near abt d same level as in neet
Same goes for chem n phy
And maths sec questions are appreciably good and with understanding easy to solve.
The level of AIIMS is way tougher than NEET. With regards to all the sections.
All the best
Hello Rock star ,
No you cant. If you dont want to take admission through the Aptitude test then appear for JEE Advanced or KVPY.
But for getting admissions you will compulsorily have to appear for atleast the tests that IISER accepts.

hope that helps!
Hi Shivani, the rank cutoffs varies every year based on the difficulty level of exams, seats available and management decisions. However looking at last year process, the chances are very highly slim to no chancess to get call for iiser. Basically they call ranks among 50-700 on average basis, and tough to get even IISER Mohali.
Hey Alviya,
Sorry to say that your chances of appearing for JEE advanced is not possible. You should better take a year drop and study well to get a good college through JEE. I will suggest you to join a good coaching institute and prepare well.
Good luck ahead !
Hello Prashant,
First of all congratulations for clearing IIT JAM, but as per the stream of biological sciences is concerned, there are a very few IITs which have biological sciences, there is an equivalent competition for the same. Hence it is very difficult to get selected in any IIT for MSc. But i would like you to apply in different NITs and IISERs where there is a chance of getting selected based on your rank. According to the last year cut off, you can shortlist a couple of NITs, IISERs and appear for the counselling. Again i would say that the admission is completely unpredictable as it depends on the ranking, past cut off, students applied for the current year and many other factors. Still, it is worth trying.
Next thing you can do is apply for different central universities as well, you have to write a separate exam for that but chances of getting a good institute is all that matters.
I hope this helps you. Good Luck!
