my rank is 452 where I will get admission

anushkasrivastava073 13th Aug, 2022

Hello Kuldip,

There are three ways through which one can get into IISERs.

METHOD 1: Through KVPY

All the students who have secured a rank in KVPY are eligible for this program. The students will be shortlisted on the basis of their ranks.

Application Dates: 11 September to 15 September

METHOD 2: Through JEE Advanced

A JEE Advance rank of 15000 (for General candidates) and less will be enough for getting into an IISER. However, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their ranks here as well.

Application Dates: 11 September to 15 September

METHOD 3: Through IISER Aptitude Test (IAT)

The maximum number of students are admitted through this method. The exam has already been conducted for the year 2022. The toughness of this entrance exam is more or less similar to JEE/NEET.

A rank of 452 in the IAT exam is considered to be a great rank. You will be eligible for all the IISERs at this rank. Maybe not in the first round but by the end of 2nd or last round you will be eligible for all the IISERs according to my PREDICTION.

LIST OF COLLEGES AT YOUR RANK:

  1. IISER Pune
  2. IISER Mohali
  3. IISER Bhopal
  4. IISER Kolkata
  5. IISER TVM
  6. IISER Tirupati
  7. IISER Behrampur

How should my daughter prepare for IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) this year? Please see my previous questions to know her interests.

Dear Aspirant,

IISER Aptitude test is conducted every year and is one of the main channel of admission into IISERs.

The difficulty level of the examination is similar to JEE/ NEET exams and one can prepare for it whe preparing for the other competitive examinations.

For all subjects please refer to NCERT first to clear your concepts and then move on to the following reference books

For inorganic chemistry and biology focus only on NCERT.

MATH - Cengage/ Arihant publication series for concepts

Physics - H C Verma, solve every question of every chapter

Organic chemistry - Refer to  O P Tandon for questions and tricky concepts

Physical chemistry - Refer to P Bahadur

You can refer to YouTube videos for getting a better idea of concepts whenever you have doubts

If you haven't done math/biology in your class 11 / 12, it's alright. Focus on revising easy topics from NCERT before the exam.

The exam is out of 180 and if you get above 110, you should be in a really good spot to get a seat in IISER.

Hope this helps.
