I have got a score of GATE ENTRANCE 355 ,Will I get any admissions in the any NITS Colleges ( I have been Qualified)

Shubham Aggarwal 10th Apr, 2024

Hi,

Admission into National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in India depends on various factors other than just the GATE score, such as the specific discipline you are applying for, the category you belong to (General, OBC, SC, ST, etc.), and the cutoff scores for each NIT and discipline.

A GATE score of 355 is a decent score, but whether it's sufficient for admission to a particular NIT will depend on the competition and cutoff scores for that year and discipline. Generally, higher scores are required for more popular and competitive disciplines.

To know if you have a chance of admission to any NITs, you should check the previous year's cutoff scores for the NITs and disciplines you're interested in. These cutoff scores are usually available on the official websites of the respective NITs or through GATE counseling authorities.

You can also consider using the GATE College Predictor tool provided below to explore your options and the likelihood of securing admission based on your score and other relevant factors.

I have got 355 Score in GATE Entrance exam, and I have been Qualified will I get any admissions in any NIT Colleges or in any colleges

Shubham Aggarwal 10th Apr, 2024

Hi,

Congratulations on qualifying the GATE exam with a score of 355! Your chances of getting admissions to NITs (National Institutes of Technology) or other colleges depend on various factors such as the specific branch you applied for, the competition in that branch, and the cutoff scores for different colleges and branches in the GATE exam.

To determine your chances accurately, you should check the cutoff scores for the branches and colleges you are interested in. Each college and branch may have different cutoff scores depending on factors like the number of seats available, the difficulty level of the exam, and the number of applicants.

You can find the cutoff scores for previous years on official GATE websites or admission portals of NITs and other colleges. By comparing your score with the cutoff scores of previous years, you can get an idea of your chances of admission.

Additionally, you may also consider factors like reservation quotas, which may affect the cutoff scores for different categories of candidates.

It's recommended to research thoroughly and consult with experts or admission counselors for more precise guidance on your chances of admission to NITs or other colleges based on your GATE score.

Also, consider using the GATE College Predictor tool to get the more specific information based on your GATE Score.

I have done BTech from Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in 2023. Now, I have cleared EC gate 2024 (score- 424 obc category). Can I get admission in any Nits in the VLSI branch?

Shubham Aggarwal 10th Apr, 2024

HI,

Congratulations on clearing the EC GATE 2024 exam with a score of 424 in the OBC category! With your background in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, you certainly have a good chance of getting admission into NITs (National Institutes of Technology) for the VLSI branch.

However, admission criteria can vary from one NIT to another, and they often consider factors such as GATE score, academic performance, and sometimes even personal interviews or written tests. Since you've achieved a decent score in GATE, you stand a good chance of securing admission, provided you meet the eligibility criteria and other requirements set by the respective NITs.

To increase your chances further, make sure to carefully research the admission processes and eligibility criteria of the NITs offering VLSI courses. Additionally, stay updated with the latest notifications and announcements from these institutions regarding admissions and counseling procedures. It's also advisable to prepare your application materials meticulously and seek guidance if needed.

Also, consider using the GATE College Predictor tool provided below to get more specific information based on your GATE Score and Category.

I have got 260 gate score and i am ST CATEGORY student in Civil Engineering background what college can I get

Shubham Aggarwal 10th Apr, 2024

Hi,

The admission process for various colleges and universities varies, and your chances of admission depend not only on your GATE score but also on other factors such as the specific requirements of each institution, the number of applicants, and the availability of seats in the ST category.

With a GATE score of 260 in Civil Engineering and belonging to the ST category, you may have opportunities to get admission to various institutes. However, the specific colleges you can get into depend on several factors, including the competition in your category, the cutoff scores of different colleges in previous years, and the current year's admission criteria.

Here are some general suggestions:

  1. Research Colleges: Look for colleges that offer Civil Engineering programs and consider their admission criteria, including cutoff scores for different categories. You can find this information on their official websites or admission brochures.

  2. Check Previous Year Cutoffs: Look at the previous year's cutoff scores for various colleges to get an idea of the score required for admission. This can give you an estimate of your chances based on your GATE score.

  3. Apply to Multiple Colleges: To increase your chances of admission, apply to multiple colleges based on your preferences and eligibility criteria.

  4. Consider State-Level Colleges: Depending on your location and preferences, consider applying to state-level colleges or universities that offer Civil Engineering programs.

  5. Prepare Other Application Materials: Apart from your GATE score, ensure that your application materials, such as your academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and statement of purpose, are well-prepared and highlight your strengths.

  6. Stay Updated: Keep yourself updated with any announcements or changes in the admission process of the colleges you're interested in.

Consider using the GATE College Predictor tool provided below for more information.

My Gate Score is 306 and rank- 11189 ,I am from SC categeory, Which college IIT/NIT I can get?

Lalbee 21st Mar, 2024

Hello Aspirant,

A key consideration in establishing the GATE cutoff for NIT is the degree of difficulty of a GATE paper for a particular branch. For admission to NIT, the maximum GATE cutoff is 800-850, while the minimum cutoff is 350–400. Therefore, a score range of 600–700 and 500–600 on the GATE exam might be acceptable.
The GATE 2024 cutoff points for CS are 18.4 for SC/ST, 24.8 for OBC-NCL, and 27.6 for General. Soon, all 29 other papers' minimum qualifying cutoff marks will be updated here. The GATE deadlines are 325-750 for IIT Bombay, 300-800 for IIT Delhi, and 432-877 for IIT Madras.

my cs gate score 342 in sc category in which Nit got me

Akansha Sharma 12th May, 2025

With a GATE score of 342 in the SC category, you have a good chance of getting admission to an NIT for M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The specific NIT depends on the cutoff for the year, but generally, you may have a chance at NITs like NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut, or NIT Trichy. These institutes have varying cutoffs depending on the demand, but with your score, you should be eligible for admission in most NITs offering CSE. Always check the official cutoff for confirmation.
