    With your mentioned rank it is possible to get a seat at least by the end of counselling process. You may get Barak Valley easily or any Private college definitely in beginning. Be flexible with your choice of branches to get a seat easily.

    You can be a government employee by selecting any of this feild . By doing btech you can give various engineering exams of railway and ISRO . You can also for IES . Vacancy for bsc is also released regularly by many government companies and PSU . You have a better opportunities in both of them. So as per your interest you can select any of them.

    First of all congratulations on securing a good rank in CEE exam. As ASTU have released the merit list and according to the merit list the counseling process will start from 10th of june. And regarding your query you secured a very good rank and according to your rank you can get both Assam Engineering college (AEC) or Jorhat engineering college (JEC). And regarding your branch in AEC you may get ECE, civil and mechanical, there is little chances for getting CSE branch. And if you go with JEC then you can get almost every branch.     Can you just make sure in what entrance exam you have achieved that rank. And if you have attained this rank in JEE mains then you will surely get an NIT in any state it depends on you which college you are choosing. And if it is not the rank of JEE mains then specify which entrance exam you have given in the comment.

    Jorhat Engineering college is one of the most prominent colleges in assam. 

    The current intake of the number of students is 315

    The minimum cutoff for the jec college for the general category is varying between 125 and 130.

    So, I think you can get into cse branch in jec with your marks

    Hope you are doing well as counseling of CEE has been started from 10th of june. And as per merit you are not eligible in 1st phase of counseling and sorry to say but your rank is way too high to get you into any government colleges under CEE. You can go for private colleges there are some private colleges which accepts admission with CEE rank. Hope these will help you regarding any query feel free to ask in comment section.
