In these colleges or state level entrance like wbjee or any private college examination ,the dynamics changes every year drastically.

It depends upon certain factors like number of candidates appearing in that examination, number of vacant seats in the college, previous years cut off, difficulty level of the paper.

So accordingly it would change but on a general basis you have good chances to get in category 2 or 3 at a worst case scenario. As per previous years you can get in category 1.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate you on successful completion of your VITEEE exam. The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. With a rank near to 38,0 00, you cannot get CSE, ECE or IT seats in Vellore and Chennai campuses in any fee category. Whereas, you can easily secure a CS, ECE or any other seat in their Amravati (AP) and Bhopal campuses in 1st or 2nd fee categories itself as these are recently established.

Meghna, you stand very decent chances to get biomedical engineering at VIT Vellore with the rank 38783. Also, you have good chances to get Civil Engineering, Production engineering at VIT Vellore. The previous years records show that the candidates sevuring rank upto 20,000 comes under the category-1 and 20k onwards category 2 starts and so on. So, with the rank you mentioned, there are chances that you might get category 2 or 3 but for category 1 chances are less. Also, according to the previous years cutoff trends you might get biomedical engineering, civil engineering and Production and Industrial Engg at VIT Vellore and you can always apply for other campuses of VIT. I'm afraid to say that No Meghna, you cannot get category-1 with this rank - 38783 ( according to previous years records). But you might get category2 or category 3 under which you might get Biomedical Engineering easily at VIT Vellore. Its not possible to guess this year's cut-off, so just participate in their counselling process to know whether you get the seat this year for 38,000 rank or no.
