For Doing Naval Architecture from Indian Maritime University or colleges affiliated to Indian Maritime University, Chennai . You first need to give Indian Maritime University common entrance test (IMU-CET) which is conducted once in a year for engineering department. NATA is National Aptitude Test in Architecture. The eligibility for NATA is that the candidate must have either passed/appearing in 10+2. The candidate must have scored minimum 50% marks in aggregate in physic, chemistry and mathematics. Further, the candidate needs to score minimum 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.

Yes they take admission without NATA exam.
Eligibility Criteria
A student must have passed a intermediate examination 12 with mathematics, physics and chemistry

The candidates must have scored 50% or more marks in NATA exam to be declared qualified. They had to obtain at least 80 marks out of 200.The qualifying cutoff for the examination was:
MCQ section At least 25% (total 30 marks) Drawing section At least 25% (total 20
