With this much score of 64 percentile in January JEE Mains attempt, your chances of qualifying for JEE Advanced examination through ST category is low but you may qualify for this examination if you are lucky from your april attempt if you have performed good there.

And for this you should score more than 85 percentile score ( for safe conditions) and marks you need for 85 percentile is nearly 90 .

Hey! 72 marks in jee advanced are somewhat less and getting into iist is a bit difficult. With 72 marks I don't think you will be able to get into iist since there are only very limited number of seats and given that it's one of the best space institutes

For 97.87 percentile you will have general rank around 20k. For this rank you won't be able to get good branch in top four NITs. You may get biotechnology, metallurgy, mining etc.. there.
You can get good branches in Mideum NITs.
So deceide and go for your choice
