With your ST category rank of 1144 I think your probability of getting an IIT shouldn't be less if you don't have a preferred branch or IIT.

Sorry Naveen ,But your rank will not be able to fetch you a seat in any of the IITs as per previous year trends.The closing OBC category ranks are generally last upto 6000.So don't expect much from JEE ADVANCED rank.You should focus more on the colleges accepting JEE MAIN ranks.

So if they consider according to prep.rank then 200 rank would be maximum (any case) not more than that.
And prep.course are the course where you'll be prepared by iits for iits. But the seats for prep.courses

Prep sc rank in JEE advance or preparatory rank is for the students belonging to SC, ST,and PWD category, who fail to qualify JEE adv by not clearing per subject cutoff. Hence the reserved seats for SC, ST and PWD cannot be offered to a candidate
