There is less possibility of getting a seat in IITs. If you will get one then either the college will be newly established or you may get some lower branch like Metallurgical in which very less students are actually interested. It will be better to use your JEE

However, you can get an IIT with the following departments:

• IIT MADRAS (BIOLOGICAL)
• IIT KHARAGPUR (ARCHITECTURE)
• IIT ROORKEE (ARCHITECTURE)

For general category candidates to be eligible for admission in IITs/NITs, you must have scored at least 75% or should be top 20% of your board. There is a relaxation of 10% for candidates of SC/ST/PWD category. If you don't have that you won't be eligible for admission.
