You will know that you are fully prepared for jee mains when you can solve the sample papers of Jee mains before time, and take no more than 1 min in each question. You should see how well you are prepared by solving the previous year papers.
As your son has failed in both regular and compartment exam of CBSE he will get another chance in March along with his board. I would suggest him to write his board along with compartment as it may increase his overall percentage as JEE main requires 75% or
