You can give Gate exam in any branch but you will have to check the eligibility criteria of colleges separately as it varies accordingly for the same. Good Luck!!!
IISER takes admission through KVPY, SCB and JEE Advanced.

Or if you want to go through SCB stream then Maharashtra board cut off should be more than 79%.
