Every year cut off the GATE exam and colleges fluctuates depending on the number of candidates,difficulty level of the paper.
You can apply at NITs IIITs and GFTIs most probably you will get any one of them.
You may apply for interdisciplinary branches these colleges are offering:
NIT
There are few NITs offering Metallurgy and their cut off is more than 600 for OBC.
Its really difficult for you to get seats in metallurgy .If you want to go for other interdisciplinary branch you can try for these colleges:

CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average. In Education system it has started way earlier to assess your Marks. See there are no different ways of Calculation of GPA for PSU's. They follow the same rule
