No, you can do not need to send any mail request to the Gate Zonal office for change in Gender during the correction time. Application correction will get started from 4 th week of October 2019. Corrections can be done in Name, DOB, Details of Parents/Guardian, Correspondence

Dear Puneet, GATE score is valid for 3 years. IITs do have their own selection procedure. The year in which you wrote your GATE isnt considered. Your GATE score, application profile and other criteria are considered for the shortlisting process.
