The number of seats available for M.Tech in Aerospace Engineering varies depending on the university or institute. Typically, leading institutions in India, such as the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), offer between 20 to 60 seats for their M.Tech programs in Aerospace Engineering. Some universities may have additional seats for sponsored or part-time candidates, which can slightly increase the total intake.
Regarding the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score cut-off for M.Tech admissions, this also varies by institution and can change each year based on factors like the number of applicants and the difficulty level of the exam. Generally, for top-tier institutes like IITs, the cut-off for Aerospace Engineering can range from 600 to 750, while for other reputed colleges, it might be around 500 to 600.
To secure a seat in M.Tech Aerospace, it’s essential to prepare thoroughly for the GATE exam, aiming for a score that meets or exceeds the cut-off set by your desired institutions. Always check the official websites of the universities for the most accurate and updated information regarding seat availability and cut-off scores.

BCA students are not qualified to apply for GATE. On the other hand, individuals pursuing an MCA after completing their BCA are deemed qualified to sit for the GATE exams. It is argued that the BCA syllabus does not provide the solid basis in courses like physics and chemistry that M. Tech students need, which is why MCA is necessary. GATE exams are available to MCA students in their second and third year.
Hope it helps you
