Your GATE score out of 1000 would be a better indicator of which college you might get.
According to previous year cutoffs for CSE of various IITs , you need a 700+ score in GATE 2020 to get into any IITs. For top NITs also you need above 650

you are good range  in of gate marks maybe you will get a good IIT,NIT and PSU's.


You can look under the data of the 2017 and 2018 gate cut of Marks and from where you may be able to predict your changes, to get IIT,NIT and PSU.

No,it is not mandatory to clear both.Candidates with a valid GATE score with qualifying marks in relevant discipline in Engineering/Technology,need not appear for TANCET.However candidates who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks in Engineering Science(XE) and Life Science (XL) will definitely have to appear for TANCET

You can do M.Tech from NIT's and then do your PHD and look for career options within India and abroad particularly USA.

 Alternatively, you can prefer a job with IICT or industries within the country, work for some time and then think of studying further.

But out of 16 IIT's only 10 IIT,s and ISM Dhanbad offer   Chemical Engineering in India
