Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test
Hello dear student,
As you have accepted and upgraded in round 3 COMEDK, your round 3 seat is safe. if you are not happy with the round 4 seat, you can just simply skip it as you will safely keep your round 3 seat . but if you accept the round 4 seat, you must join the college there's no option to cancel or get a refund and if you accept round 4 but don't report to the college, you'll lose your money and also have to pay penalty. so, unless and until you are fully sure about the higher fees, it will better to stay with your round 3 seat.
It is not guaranteed that the fees will remain same for all four years. In private institutions under COMEDK, the fees may increase upto 15% depending on different institutions. For the safer side you can contact in accounts office of your college.
Hello,
Yes, in private colleges under COMEDK, the fee can increase by 5–10% annually depending on the institution. Some colleges keep the same fee throughout 4 years, but many revise slightly. Safest way—ask your college accounts office.
All the best!
Between IIIT Senapati (Manipur) and CMRIT Bengaluru for ECE, the choice depends on priorities. IIIT Senapati, an Institute of National Importance, offers good national recognition, IT-focused R&D, and respectable placements around 64% with an average package of INR 8.7 LPA. CMRIT, a private college in Bengaluru, provides strong industry connections, modern infrastructure, and higher placement packages up to INR 13.5 LPA domestically and INR 56 LPA internationally, with internships in top companies. Choose IIIT for prestige and research, and CMRIT for better placements and exposure.
If you didn’t get any seat in Round 1 and 2 of COMEDK, you will still be considered in Round 3 if you chose the Reject & Upgrade option. If you don’t get a seat in Round 3 also, you will automatically move to the next round, but you will also be given an EXIT option. This allows you to withdraw from the counselling process completely. So yes, after Round 3 with no allotment, you can choose to exit. Always check the official COMEDK portal for updates before making your decision.
With a COMEDK rank of 47505, getting ECE in round 3 will be difficult in top or mid tier colleges because the cutoff for ECE generally closes much earlier. At this rank, you are more likely to get branches like Mechanical, Civil, Mechatronics, or Biotechnology in colleges like Acharya, East Point, Don Bosco, or AMC Engineering. Since you already got Mechatronics at Acharya in round 1, ECE chances in round 3 are very slim unless in lesser preferred colleges.
With a 27,500 rank in COMEDK 2025, getting top branches like CSE, AIML, or ECE in tier-1 colleges (RV, BMS, MSRIT, PES) is unlikely. However, you can target tier-2/3 colleges where you may get branches like Mechanical, Civil, EEE, Biotechnology, or sometimes IT/ECE in lower-demand institutes. Colleges you can realistically expect include Dayananda Sagar, CMRIT, Acharya Institute, New Horizon, and East Point. If flexible with branch/college, you will find good options.
Hey Priyanshu:)
If you don't get a seat in round 1 and 2 and then get alloted in round 3 but choose not to accept it you won't be penalized, but you won't be able to participate in the round 4 either. Basically, Skipping the seat means you exit the councelling process and lose the chance for further rounds.

Yes, there will be a Round 2 in COMEDK for General Merit students as well, not just for KKR students. Round 2 is usually conducted in multiple phases where GM candidates can participate depending on their eligibility and seat availability.
If you apply for withdrawal in Round 2, the fee refund timeline depends on when you submit the withdrawal request. Generally, COMEDK starts processing refunds a few weeks after the withdrawal window closes, and it may take around 2 to 4 weeks for the refund to reflect in your account. Make sure your bank details are correctly updated and keep checking the official portal for exact refund dates.
