see most of the engineering entrance exam needs 10+2 course qualification to get admission in btech exam. see there is one advantage for diploma passed candidates that you can join b.tech through lateral entry exam. and you can directly join from second year of btech course. in that way your 1 year will be saved.

Since you didn't mention your category so considering you as general category it will be very difficult for you to get into government colleges in the first round if your rank is for CGPET qualified list. But you may get seat in following colleges.

The registration date for JOSAA counseling is over now. Two rounds of seat allotment have already been now, you can't participate in JOSAA counseling as of now. Yes, you can fill second round options it is depends on your counselling process. If they are offering you for second round without a first round so it will good news for you, but 90% counseling systems are not approved this process.
