there are many subjects you can choose for mtech. however i would suggest you to choose subject according to job market and also inquire about college placement before admission.

the few subjects are like as per your ece background,

vlsi and microelectronics,

embedded system,

signal processing 

communication engineering.

It has been updated that the counselling of AP PGECET 2019 for qualified candidates will begin from Fourth week of July 2019 i.e this week. Particular date hasn't been issued. Be in touch with the site for regular updates.The authority will announce the dates for further rounds of AP PGECET counselling 2019.

However, with 977 rank, you might be able to get:

• M.Tech (CS) at SRI VIDYA NIKETAN ENGINEERING COLLEGE, Chittoor if you belong to BCB
• M.Tech(ECE) at VIGNANS INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY if you have OC category

There are many other branches you might get in different colleges in AP based on your caste category rank.

i suggest you use an AP PGCET college predictor (search on google) and it will give you more details.

Hello aspirant! Let me to inform you that till now there has been no official notice regarding the exact date of counseling for non gate candidates in Ap pgecet. So if you want to go on the basis of Ap pgecet score then you need not to panic since the counselling registration has not yet begun .The counselling for for non gate candidates will commence after the counselling for gate candidates has ended but we don't have an exact date. It was scheduled to be held in fourth week of July but it has not started

Not all seats are filled by gate, A certain percentage is filled by GATE and APPGECET,I do not have much idea of what that ratio is but it is not one sided like the 15 to 85 percent in colleges for jee and state exams during btech admission. Your chances to get into a college through appgecet will be fair.
